We all ordered sirloin steaks, and every one of them was cooked perfectly to the medium we requested. Top-notch quality and consistency.
Texas Roadhouse is a go-to restaurant if you’re near the mall and want a reliable, family-friendly place with great food. Highly recommended.
I came down to Indiana from Canada a short while ago and had heard how good Texas Roadhouse was. We had been to Cheddar’s (nearby to this location) twice in the past and absolutely loved their T Bone steak for $21. Perfectly cooked both times and generous sides.
My wife and I got married yesterday, November 15th, and because I’m a big steak guy myself I saw how pricy some of the cuts are and asked if we could make a change and try somewhere new as a celebration on a limited budget.
My steak and shrimp was $28.99 (two sides included) and I asked for grilled onion and mushroom as my sides which are both listed as options. I was told no — they could do mushroom on the side but not onion for some reason. I took green beans and buttered corn; they were busy and I didn’t want to argue it. I was then asked if I wanted it “smothered” for an up charge of $2.29 (their term for covered in sautéed onion and mushroom apparently — basically what I asked for as my sides but again, not a big deal, perhaps a new server and they were busy). My steak was ordered as rare.
My mother and father in-law ordered 6oz sirloins and asked for both well-done (total $35 between the two as one had theirs with the regular sides and the other had the chicken critters).
My wife ordered a 12oz Prime Rib “smothered” ($27), my sister in-law ordered a grilled BBQ chicken ($15).
To avoid extending this essay any further, below is how everything came out:
-12oz Ribeye (rare) served blue — VERY blue, no mushroom or onion provided as ordered
-Both 6oz Sirloin (well-done) served around medium rare — very noticeably pink on the inside
-BBQ Chicken forgotten, did not arrive until ten minutes later after informing the server we hadn’t received it
-Prime rib (medium-rare) served medium — only onion provided, no mushroom as ordered
The manager offered to have the steaks thrown back on the grill, but after having already waited roughly an hour and with wedding celebrations to attend we did not have time to wait any longer.
We were offered more complimentary bread three times while we waited during our hour+ and they were not brought until after our food. Similarly with drinks they ran out of cups and brought them in styrofoam takeout cups.
At the end of the experience (with none of us having eaten our steak due to how undercooked they were — see photos: my rare steak was so blue it was virtually raw, and due to the disclaimer at the bottom of their menu about food safety I was not comfortable being liable for ending up with food poisoning as a result of making-do) we had $35 removed from our bill, roughly the cost of my steak alone, ignoring the other 3 steak which were not edible to those who ordered them.
NOTE: Upon delivery of the food a different woman dropped it off and asked us to cut into our steak so she could check if they were cooked appropriately before we ate. At this point we informed her that we were missing the BBQ chicken, and she left without waiting for us to check the steak. We brought the steak to the attention of our server the moment she returned (none of us had eaten any of it) and the sole solution was they’d take it back to the grill, and when we said we did not have time and had to leave we were given the $35 discount.

We attempted to resolve this issue in-restaurant in order to avoid a lengthy review. Will not be returning.

Everyone already knows about the rolls and the butter, but the meals are very well prices, especially in this economy. I ordered the 6 oz. sirloin medium rare with the steak fries and corn. Highly recommend!
My friend had his medium rare steak cooked medium, and they instantly cooked him a new one and gave him a complimentary plate of loaded steak fries! That’s how you do business.
It’s a fantastic company with outstanding employees.
The only caution is that it can be quite busy, so try the online waitlist check-in. It helped us save probably 15 minutes of waiting.
Steak was perfectly prepared to my temperature specification. Probably the best chain restaurant steak I have had in quite some time.
Our server was very upbeat and attentive. It’s a fun atmosphere, though a bit chaotic due to how busy they are.
