On a Friday afternoon at about 12:30 recently, the door was locked but open sign on. We had to call for them to let us on. We were the only two there and the man waiting on us definitely didn’t want us there. The tables hadn’t been wiped down and had thick sticky stuff all over it. One of us got a burger and fries. I decided I’d just get a piece of cake. They didn’t have it. Asked for a little gumbo which they usually have. They didn’t have it. There were 3 – 4 people working, we were the only people, so I don’t know what the hell they were doing but they wasn’t wiping tables or welcoming customers. Fries were frozen fries and hadn’t been cooked all the way. These fries were whiter than the Bush family. The server man came and leaned over and said their
Credit card machine was down and asked if we’d pay cash. Sure. Then the price for the burger and fries was suddenly $5 more than what the menu said. Why a sketchy mess. So let down that it hurts my feelings. This isn’t the Doretha’s I knew.

We were traveling and in town looking for something different to eat. Found this place from the Google reviews which were good. Found it kinda on a back street. When we pulled in there were only 2 cars there. We thought no, and I thought the reviews were too good for it to not be good. It was early afternoon which may explain why there were many cars there. I got out of the car to go check to see if they were open. When I got out of the car and walked towards the building a lady hollered out of the drive up window and said they were closed. I walked over and talked to her and told her dang, I was hoping to eat there because of the great reviews. I told her we were from out of town. She asked me how many were with me and I told her two more. She said I’ll open the door. I told her I really appreciated it but she didn’t have to do that. She said , no I’m not turning you all away. We had the best hamburgers we’ve ever had and couldn’t hardly eat them because they were so big. They didn’t rush out and were thankful that we came. Good people and I would give them 10 stars if I could

Super simple restaurant with a daily lunch buffet and great burgers!!
Stopped in today because we wanted quick and I’m so glad we did. We each got hamburger steak from the buffet. Watching my diet, I added the cabbage and butter beans while my husband added rice, gravy and cornbread. Delicious!
The ladies who we interacted with were super sweet and welcoming. We will definitely be back!

We ordered the bacon cheeseburgers with fries. They are big burgers, but just ok as far as taste. Menu says that was $13 each, plus a tea for each of us. They charged us $37.99 plus the card fee. We probably won’t be back. If you don’t like loud talk show tv, maybe get your order to go.

I’m not exactly sure what happened on our last visit. We had been there just the week before and had a pleasant experience.
This visit we were completely ignored. The restaurant was about a third full so not very busy. The staff passed us several times without ever acknowledging us. After waiting 15 minutes we left. We are confused about our treatment. We have no plans to return.

My husband and I have tried to eat at this restaurant twice so far. We went during the hours listed online and both times the restaurant was closed (5:30pm on a Saturday and 4:15pm on a Friday). If the place is closed, information online needs to be updated.

They are proud of there product and service. It’s an experience of the deep south. No frills just good food made by good people.

Had a seafood lunch buffet
It was good, the fried pork chop was very good and the friwd shrimp was good but the sauté shrimp tasted sour.
I felt like I was kinda bothering the workers when I asked for something
Most of the food needed to be seasoned
I saw the other food that was prepared and not on the buffet and it looked amazing
Will order off menu next time
