Despite being a one-person operation on New Year’s Day, the service was impressively fast and the food exceeded expectations. The rice and peas stood out for their rich flavor and perfect texture—moist, not dry. The cabbage was cooked just right, offering a tender bite without being underdone. The highlight was the jerk chicken: juicy, with a satisfying kick of spice that made each bite memorable. Overall, this meal delivered great taste and efficiency, making it a standout experience for the holiday.

Asked for 2 orders of LARGE oxtail one with cabbage and rice/peas one with cabbage with Mac n cheese. Why so stingy with the cabbage where my second large oxtail I was told since I ordered Mac n cheese (which classifies as a special) they replace the second side with white rice. The oxtail was good atleast but for $58.46 I could’ve gotten what I asked for you will see me coming back for a refund or replacement.

The woman working at the counter was extremely rude. When I called to ask if they were open, I was treated rudely on the phone, and when I arrived hoping to get some Caribbean food, the same attitude continued at the counter.
I didn’t want to say anything because I was concerned she might do something to the food, especially since she was serving from the back room. About 90% of the items on the menu weren’t available, and the prices were very high for what was offered.
I was expecting the older lady who used to run the business years ago, she was always extremely kind but she was no longer there. Unfortunately, the experience was nothing like before.
I honestly feel this young lady should consider doing something she enjoys more, because dealing with customers doesn’t seem to be her passion. I had my daughter with me(age 6), and she even whispered, “What’s wrong with this lady, Dad?” I told her everyone is entitled to a bad day, but after reading other reviews, it seems this may just be her usual attitude.

Lady in front was very nice, sweet and patient 10/10. But the food was very bland wasn’t the best. Needed more favor

Firstly, the place was empty, and I wasn’t welcomed by the young lady that was there.
Did not like the ambiance. Enquired to see what they had available, they had a few items but the hostess noted that the chef was not there on premises, but they had food available. As a Jamaican, a warm them go warm up the food and gi me? Me no want that sah.
I was really looking forward to some authentic Jamaican food but this was not the place. Definitely do not recommend.
Never try the food still, so maybe you will have better luck, providing the chef is available.

Honestly was expecting more. Lady at the front is just a really bad vibe, looks angry and is rude. This picture is what I got for $20, I got no more than 4 diced pieces of goat, the rest was bones. Food is okay I give it a 6.5/10, but the customer service was not good, the lady at the front needs to be more welcoming and nice or she needs to get fired. To the owner, the lady at the front is ruining your business and you will get more reviews like this. Only reason I can think of for the pricing to be reasonable is that they’re the only ones in town.

If you’re searching for a culinary adventure that transports you straight to the heart of the Caribbean, look no further than Jamaica Jamaica in El Paso, Texas. This vibrant eatery is a feast for the senses, where the tantalizing aroma of spices fills the air and the colorful decor creates an inviting atmosphere that feels like a warm embrace.
From the moment you enter, you know you’re in for something special. The menu is a delightful tribute to authentic Jamaican cuisine, and I was eager to dive right in. I started with the jerk chicken, and let me tell you—it was pure magic. The chicken was expertly marinated, delivering a perfect balance of smoky heat and sweet spices that made every bite a delight. Paired with the traditional rice and peas, it was comfort food at its finest, bursting with flavor and served with a generous portion that left me completely satisfied.
But the crown jewel of my meal had to be the curried goat. This dish was an absolute revelation! Tender, succulent pieces of goat simmered in a rich, aromatic curry sauce crafted with a blend of spices that danced on my palate. The dish was paired with soft, fluffy roti bread—a perfect vehicle for savoring every drop of that heavenly sauce. It was an experience that felt both authentic and lovingly crafted, like a hug from a Jamaican grandmother.
As for drinks, I couldn’t resist pairing my meal with a chilled Modelo. The crisp, refreshing taste of this Mexican beer was the ideal complement to the rich, spiced flavors of my dishes. It created a delightful harmony—a fusion of cultures on my plate and in my glass, reminding me of the joys of culinary exploration.
And let’s not forget dessert! The rum cake is an absolute must-try. Moist and rich, with just the right touch of rum, it was the perfect sweet ending to my meal—a little slice of paradise that lingered happily on my taste buds.
The service at Jamaica Jamaica was as warm and welcoming as the food. The staff was attentive and friendly, always ready to recommend dishes or share the stories behind them, enhancing the overall experience.
In the bustling food scene of El Paso, Jamaica Jamaica stands out as a beacon of flavor and hospitality. Whether you’re a fan of Jamaican cuisine or simply looking to try something new, this restaurant delivers an unforgettable experience that will leave you craving more. I’m already dreaming of my next visit—because you can’t go wrong with Jamaican food paired with a cold Modelo! Highly recommended!

I completely agree with this review. I had a similar experience the food itself was decent but definitely not worth the price considering . The lady at the front also gave off a really unwelcoming vibe, which made the whole visit uncomfortable specially coming all the way from Germany. Customer service makes a big difference, and it’s disappointing when it feels like they don’t care. Hopefully, the owner takes this feedback seriously because the food has potential, but the attitude at the front really brings the place down.

Front desk clerk was pleasant and friendly not sure what everyone else talking about because she was great to me. She even showed me where to purchase Island Spices up the street. Noooowwwww the food is a NO GO for me! I tried this food last year and was disappointed, so I said okay let me give it another try and it was still horrible. Place was clean, atmosphere was good, but the food was nasty! The brown stew chicken was overly sweet and flavorless. Only sauce sweetness. Cabbage was bland

Decided after a medical appointment to try this new place out. The place was very clean and inviting! We were greeted by 2 extremely friendly ladies who offered suggestions on what to order. The place was recently renovated and it looks great! The food was delicious. We wanted to try a variety so we had the following. Oxtails, curry goat, jerk chicken and beef patty’s! Everything we tried was so yummy!!! The place is extremely clean and we can’t wait to go back again.
