Harbour Fish & Chips has a lot of charm and history, but unfortunately our meal didn’t live up to expectations. The biggest letdown was the fish itself—there wasn’t much actual fish inside the fried batter, which was disappointing, especially for a place that specializes in fish and chips. We were really hoping for a more filling, satisfying portion.

Based on other reviews, it seems the experience can be inconsistent, and sadly ours fell on the disappointing side.

On a positive note, the atmosphere is great. It definitely gives off a classic summer rental vibe, and it’s clear the place has been around for a long time. Reading through the articles and checking out all the memorabilia was fun and added character to the visit.

While the setting and history were enjoyable, the food itself just didn’t meet expectations this time.

Delicious fish and chips! We came here on a recommendation and thoroughly enjoyed it. We sat outside on the harbor and watched the sunset.

We chose the Sampler, which was big enough for us. See picture for reference. It’s a popular spot and there was only a couple of other tables left when we arrived shortly before 5pm. The tables do turnover fairly quickly though. A fantastic dinner!

Came here before heading to the beach. Had the large 3 piece fish dish that came with fries. It was very good. The kids had corn dog and chicken fingers. With a lot of fries. Which was good. Service was ok at the counter. But it was to be expected. I really liked the fish. Price is a little high, but so it the places near by. I do recommend.

Unfortunately I would not recommend this place to any family or friends as to we were looking forward to trying this place out but ended up being really disappointed. We order 3pc fish basket, captain plate and clam chowder. Sadly the food literally has no taste and was NOT SEASONED!!! Fish pieces look big but once you take a bite it’s mainly batter, if you look at the pictures the batter is also not seasoned! This fish is so bland that when you use the condiments with it that’s all you taste. Our clam chowder came lukewarm and almost a gelatinous texture not like soupy chowder and under-seasoned. Our fries came out over cooked and dark brown. We paid about $58 and some change for everything but in my honest opinion it’s not worth that much. The service is great but sadly the food is not.

Friendly staff but I wasn’t impressed with the food. I tried fish and chips. Fries were good but the fish felt saturated with oil and not much of a flavor. Also tartar sauce wasn’t very good. Quite big portions for 14$.

I cruised over to catch some waves at the beach, kicked back for a solid two hours soaking up the sun. Decided to grab a bite at this rad local joint with killer ocean views. Chilled at the bar, taking in the epic ocean scenery. Met a cool lady next to me, perfect for solo surfers looking to chat. The food was on point, especially the fish and chips – totally hit the spot. You gotta try some of the other tasty items on the menu, it’s all listed right here. Had a blast, and don’t forget, they’ll hook you up with an extra drink for a small fee. The patio vibes were awesome, and the servers were top-notch – super friendly and welcoming. Stoked on this spot, highly recommend checking it out!

If you’re ever in the Oceanside Harbor, I highly recommend Harbor Fish and Chips. It could be the best I’ve ever eaten. Delicious food and huge portions ! I also got the Combo this time, with shrimp. I love shrimp and these were excellent. You can also sit outside and watch the boats and birds and quite often, sea lions. Very fun outing for lunch. Afterward you can buy some souvenirs at the nearby little shops.

I was genuinely excited to come here after reading all of the wonderful reviews previous customers have left. I’m straight up disappointed after eating here for a few reasons.

First off, the service was great! The ladies that take your order are super wonderful and nice people, definitely have a good working attitude, shows that they really care.

Moving on to the food, it was quite a surprise. Two of the fish and chips out of the three barely had fish inside, it was 80% empty, just absolutely hollow inside. A couple of the other places I’ve tried have a LOT more fish inside let alone they tasted better. Clam chowder was a bit thick and a bit salty, the fries were nice. Other than that, it just wasn’t worth the steep price of almost 70 bucks for two individuals. Please add more fish inside your fish and chips

Located at the marina in Oceanside, this is a very casual restaurant with ample seating both inside and out. To start off, they cook with avocado oil. This must be a new thing since there was a sign at the entrance. Everything we ordered was light, crispy, season perfectly and was cooked up upon order. The portions were pretty generous, and the fish filet was huge. You can either get coleslaw or fries as your “chips”. The clam chowder was just OK, but it was still a very, very satisfying meal. Service was quick and very friendly.
