Steak ‘n Shake, a classic American brand, was founded in 1934 in Normal, Illinois by Gus Belt who pioneered the concept of premium burgers and milkshakes.
For over 85 years, the company’s name has been symbolic of its heritage. The word steak stood for steakburger. The term shake stood for hand-dipped milkshakes. Gus was determined to serve his customers the finest burgers and shakes in the business.
Today, Steak ‘n Shake remains the better burger leader, serving premium 100% beef steakburgers, hand-dipped milkshakes, thin crispy fries, and more. Steakburgers are made without preservatives or artificial ingredients, topped with fresh produce, and always hand-crafted to order.
Chain known for steakburgers & milkshakes offering a dinerlike space with retro flair.

I had a horrible experience in the drive thru with one of the employees today she was rude and argumentative. She wasn’t pleasant when taking my order or interacting with me at the window. She did not greet me or smile. I went inside to request a refund because of the nasty interaction with the lady in drive thru when she bought my food outside and tried to incite an argument with me. When I got inside I was greeted by a really nice and pleasant employee name “WISELENE” who asked how she could help me. When I gave her my food and receipt and asked for my money back she immediately apologized (even though she did absolutely nothing wrong) she apologized repeatedly and asked me if she could make things right by remaking my entire order. She was so nice and genuine that I couldn’t resist. So I agreed. She notified the manager who also went above and beyond to make things right. Because of WISELENE I will return to give this establishment another try in the future. Thank you for your heart to serve. Great customer service

We’ve been here a few times, and the food always hits the spot. The burgers are top-notch, with fresh toppings and a nice presentation. Bummed they didn’t have shakes today, but the burger itself made up for it.
On top of that, the vibe is super chill. If you’re into early 2000s throwback music, this place nails it. It’s like a little time machine while you enjoy your meal. Definitely a great spot to hang out and grab a bite!
One suggestion: it’d be awesome if the owner added a couple of arcade machines. The place isn’t packed all the time, so it’d be a fun way to pass the time while waiting for food or even on a rainy day, like today.

Wonderful experience the staff is kind and helpful. My food was hot and fresh! Definitely appreciate the kind staff at the drive through when I forgot a sandwich. I appreciate it after a long day of work. Wish you all well and hope more people come enjoy this wonderful place.

Seems to be a brand new facility with staff on hand to help new customers understand the ropes, a pretty standard kiosk experience ordering if you’ve had fast food in the last 10 years, plenty of interesting items and my family liked all of the offerings we chose, I would rate the experience far above Wendy’s or McDonald’s from the food quality alone with only a small price bump

I was there Saturday night as an older customer, I find the kiosk difficult to use and not very user friendly. However the manager shani was so friendly and patient with taking our order I really adore her accent. Not everyone is comfortable with technology, and it would really help to have a cashier or staff member available at the register. Nevertheless thank you to shani for her hospitality she deserves a raise! Great prices

Steak n shake was a greasey college staple that always took forever and tasted mid back in the day. This Davie location is one of the best in the country. The burgers tasted better than culvers. The staff always has a good attitude. Wish they had thicker fries. Theres a reason this one hasnt closed like the rest. They’ve really improved on order efficiency and quality.

I got a single patty combo and paid a few bucks extra for a chocolate shake.
Shake: excellent
Fries: good
Burger: wellll.. the lettuce, tomato, and pickle were nice and fresh. HOWEVER, the burger was nearly as thin as a credit card. What a joke. Shrinkflation??
Might as well take “Steak” out of your name and just call the place “Shake”.
I will never eat there again.

Delicious and honestly cheaper/better than McDonald’s or BK. The burger was delicious – freshly pressed patty that is perfectly cooked with a delicious smashed crust. The bun is fluffy and toasted – extremely flavorful burger! Service was also really nice and helpful.

I’ve been to lots of steak & shakes and I always regret it, i always find this company in the must oddest locations i came into this location at 10:30 am on a Saturday i had to drive around the drive through twice to get attention, although they do not same thrilled about placing my order they did anyways i really wish this franchise would get there Employees in check, all that being said, the food was really good. The Fries were kind of cold , but the burgers were awesome i will give this restaurant another try :))

I used to love this place and come here every Sunday after church for years, but not anymore, this place has gone downhill in recent years. First, you have to order from a kiosk (which really takes away from the vintage charm,) then you have to scan a receipt to fill your paper cup (which, again, takes away from the vintage charm,) and finally, the employees basically ignore you unless you chase them down. It’s such a shame because this place was a gem until they changed everything.
