First time visit, but won’t be our last. Our server Salomon was excellent and helped us with our selections. The food was excellent and prices were very reasonable. We started off with the Urban Sour, Jalapeño Margarita, Whisky Sour, Garden Tini all fresh and and full of flavor. If your a light beer can you have to try the Outlaw Lite. Ordered the Tuscany Chicken great flavor with the sun-dried Tomatoes. The Steak was cooked to perfection (medium rare) fries were light and crunchy! Penne Pasta was light, delicious and cooked just right. The Nashville Chicken was Hot, but not over the top. It was cooked just right crispy and the onside, nice a moist on the inside. I’d order it again. Order the Urban Salad, but was served with our meal, so no room we were all full! The layout is wide open, so when busy it’s loud, but feels very homey.

My boyfriend loved the Steak Sandwich with fries and I absolutely loved the Chilean Salmon with Broccolini and Quinoa. We had the mocktails since we don’t drink. Overall— Just delicious. Opal was our server and she was great. Not bad prices. Will come back to try brunch.

Lol listen to what everyone says: It looks like a church BUT JUST GO IN!! Trust me it’ll be so worth it The food was absolutely incredible, and I have a whole family of picky eaters I got the Steak Frites (sorry for the photo, it was almost gone before I remembered to take a picture!) with sweet potato fries and mashed potato. Listennn the steak?? Melted in my mouth it was so juicy and flavorful and everyone at the table said that the mash was the best they ever had! I am not from here, but I wish I could have dinner here every night

We must have went on an off day, compared to other reviews. We had a reservation for 6 people and waited to be sat, then about 10 minutes passed before the host brought waters for the table, and 10 more minutes before our server finally greeted the table. Our party ordered drinks and food all together at 7:40; it was not until 8:15 that we received half of the table’s drinks. Our server was very kind although forgetful – one friend ordered Brussels sprouts as an appetizer with us and they came later than all other apps. Entrees arrived at 8:30, then they told another friend that they were out of the beer she ordered an hour before.
Food: The buffalo chicken bites were good, fried green tomatoes were fine but my friends reported feeling ill after, and the baked potato fries were just plain French fries with a pile on top. My pasta primavera arrived and was honestly slimy (photos) . My friend’s medium rare steak frites arrived and were very overcooked. The Tuscan chicken and the wings both arrived cold to the touch.
As someone who’s worked in food service I hate to leave negative food reviews, however something is up. Even if the food options were unique, that speed of service is unacceptable for a restaurant that took so many reservations at once. Last note is that the restaurant is attached to the end of a church with a beer garden style yard in the front. The parking lot is accessed by stairs and a gravel path which was wobbly and likely inaccessible for strollers/elderly. If our food had arrived warm and delicious, then the situation could have ended on a good note, but it felt like one issue after another. Three stars because the manager was very apologetic and our meal was comped due to cold food/long wait times. I believe this restaurant has potential once they work out the kinks.

Steak and Chimichurri was amazing. Beautiful building. Salad was fresh, ranch dressing was bomb. Halona our server was super polite, helpful and gave great service. The apple funnel cake for desert was also wonderful!! Would definitely come back when in town. Overall awesome experience.

The menu is creative with options for everyone, including vegan and GF choices. The music is exactly my vibe — 80s to indie.
Keep rocking it, and we’ll definitely be back next time we visit Knoxville.

Our family blindly chose 71 South for an early dinner before attending an event. We were very happy with our restaurant choice! First of all, our server was super friendly, helpful, and very attentive! Secondly, the food came out quickly, hot, and delicious!!! Our party of seven had a variety of menu choices ranging from burgers and seafood to steak. Every meal was delicious and excellently prepared! This is a place we’ll definitely add to our return list! All in all a great experience. Seems a bit weird to have a beer in a church but it’s a cool place. Food was very good and service was too. The Mrs had the Salmon with quinoa and I had the Chicken Bacon Ranch sandwich with fries. We also had Fried Green Tomatoes with Jalapeno pimento cheese. Washed it all down with Outlaw Lite beer and water. My favorite part was the Ric Flair painting hanging in the dining room…wooooooooo. We will definitely be going back.

What a lovely dinner place! First off, the inside decor is absolutely gorgeous and the table side service was warmly gracious – with impeccable timing. I had the 71 Smash-burger with a side of tomato basil soup, and it was simply transcendent. Friend’s Nashville Hot Chicken was perfect-o. Just the perfect amount of hot to bloom in all the spicy ways, but not aggressive. Next time, I am getting two orders of Brussels Sprouts though, they were madly delish! 10/10 recommend.
