Great find in Brighton! The food quality here is top-notch. We had a wonderful family dinner at My Happy Hunan Kitchen! The atmosphere is calm and the design is really nice—perfect for a relaxed meal. We ordered the sizzling cumin beef (my absolute favorite!), stir-fried pork with long hot peppers, beef brisket rice noodle soup, and the spicy chicken wings. If you like heat, those wings are a must-try! We also got the noodles with egg for our daughter, which she enjoyed.
Just a heads-up: the large white rice is massive! It’s easily enough for 4–5 people. I also appreciated how they handled a small mix-up with my order; it came out with some veggies I don’t eat, but they fixed it immediately and with a great attitude. Highly recommend this spot if you’re looking for authentic flavors and a nice vibe. We will definitely be back!

Really enjoyed this place. The food has a lot of flavor without feeling overwhelming, and you can tell everything is made fresh. We ordered a few spicy dishes and they were bold but well balanced, not just spicy for the sake of it. The atmosphere feels casual and comfortable, and the staff were friendly and patient when explaining the menu. Definitely a spot I’d come back to when I’m craving authentic Hunan-style food. The stir-fried pork with green peppers was the highlight for me. The pork was tender, the peppers were fresh and slightly smoky, and the flavors were simple but really satisfying. It’s spicy, but not in an overpowering way — everything just works together. This is the kind of dish you’d want to order again next time.

We came here on a Sunday evening at 6:15 with a party of two for dinner. We were seated promptly and were able to put in our order shortly thereafter. The service is fairly cut and dry with no frills, but that was fine with us given the quality of the food! The food started coming out shortly after we ordered it. We ordered the sweet & spicy crispy chicken, the thinly sliced beef with cumin, and the eggplant with century egg. The sweet and spicy crispy chicken had some great crunch to it and the flavor with the fried shallots and crunch of the peanuts was fantastic. The sliced beef with cumin was like nothing else I’ve had before and had an awesome and not overpowering cumin taste to it. It was cooked really well and quite tender. The century egg and eggplant was also super creamy and the flavor was smoky and delectable. We will definitely be coming back and highly recommend coming here for some authentic Hunan food!

Very solid tasting food, would be back just for the food!
Don’t expect anything from service though, mediocre at best. The cost per dish is slightly on the pricier at the end (if the entire menu is at 90% of its price, it’s good) but the flavors made up for it and I’ll be back sometimes 🙂
Parking is widely available outside and is free after 6pm

The food was delicious and the service was excellent. Very authentic Hunan cuisine with real, traditional flavors. The only suggestion would be to speed up the food preparation time a bit. Overall, a great experience and I would definitely come back.

Absolutely amazing Hunan cuisine! It made me feel homesick in the best way As a Hunan native, I’ve tried a lot of Hunan food in London and New York and this is hands down the best Hunan food I’ve had abroad. Bold, authentic flavors done right. I’ll be back with friends next time I’m in Boston for sure!! Please excuse the photo…I was too busy enjoying the food and only thought to snap it halfway

Very authentic hunanese cuisine! The ampo tofu was especially smooth, spicy, and numbing, clearly crafted with care. We also liked the brazed pork belly, which had a great peppery flavor. We’re excited to come back and try more!
Recommended for locals and tourists alike.
