Excellent customer service and clean environment. Ox tails was very fatty, but good. Catfish needed to be cooked a little longer. Greens had a lot of stems, but okay. The chicken and dressing was served with a chicken thigh. Mac and cheese was bland and off the stove. Soul food was good, but it needed more seasoning.

My wife cousin and I visited on our visit to Memphis for the weekend , while trying to find a good soul food restaurant online we decided to try it out and they did not disappoint in aspect !! As soon as we entered the door we were warmly greeted by 2 very pleasant charismatic young ladies who provided all of us with great service breaking down and explaining the menu options with patience and understanding that we truly appreciate after the great service we recieved fresh food made to order that was fresh and hot made to order, while eating our delicious food the manager came over and greeted us and checked to see if the food was made to our satisfaction we will definitely return next time we visit extra shout out to mossie and her crew thank you

Was in the mood for some soul food and they didn’t disappoint! The service was excellent! Friendly, helpful and welcoming. I got the roasted chicken w/ mashed potatoes & gravy, cabbage and creamed corn. The chicken was delicious and well seasoned. The cabbage was my fave! A little spicy and nice depth of flavor. The greens were also good! Wasn’t a fan of the mashed potatoes or the creamed corn. Need to be creamier. I will def be back to try some more items including desserts.

I brought my client for late lunch so it was after 2:30-2:45p. I walked in to an empty building but thought let me try it anyway. When I reached the buffet, I realize why the emptiness. The food was old, and they had run out of everything I asked about from fried fish to turkey wings/legs. The veggies were old and dried out. She scraped up veggies that were left in the pan, then went to the back and grabbed fresh vegetables after we ordered and sat down, that hurt my feelings. Why not offer the face you’ve never seen fresh food?

It’s not the worst I’ve ever had, but it’s certainly not the best. I feel like everything needed more seasoning. I’m not a fan of pecans or whatever was in the sweet potato casserole. I enjoyed how crisp the fish, porkchop, and chicken were. However, there was absolutely a lack of seasoning. The oxtails were tender but, again, lacked seasoning. It looked and smelled so good. I was ready to do my food dance. Sadly disappointed.

Today was my husband and I first time trying this place, I ordered smoothered turkey wing over a bed of rice, mac& cheese w/ sweet potato crunch well I got the turkey wing no rice, sweet potato no crunch nor pecans all i tasted was nutmeg. The wing & mac was good nice flavor.

This is fantastic soul foods. I ordered the fried chicken with sweet potatoes and greens. The chicken was melt in your mouth scrumptious. The greens—with a bit a pepper sauce —was fantastic!! Sweet potatoes was also fantastic!!! I’ll definitely be returning here. Yes they are a bit pricey but no one can beat their home cooking!!!

My date and I ate here due to issues at another restaurant and it turned out to be our best date ever!! The food was absolutely wonderful!! She told me I was eating with my eyes closed! It was a Jon Hamm moment! Fried chicken, collard greens and black eyed peas are the best and highly recommended!

Raw catfish, gave me the wrong sides, and nothing was seasoned. Bland, tasteless, and without SOUL! No vinegar/acid or fat in the greens. Stewed to mush without even salt. Same with the cabbage. How can you do cabbage without a little pork and onion?! The cornbread, too… not even a hint of honey or butter. I feel like I must have ordered from the hospital or nursing homes cardiac diet menu. The only taste in the mac and cheese is parsley and watery noodles. If hell cooked soul food to torture its heathens, this would be it. Not what you would expect from Memphis.

I stopped here today for the first time and everything turned out good. The lady behind the counter greeted me as soon as I walked in the door. There was plenty to choose from for the lunch menu. I decided to try the baked chicken with rice. I also had the greens, lima beans, and sweet potato soufflé as my sides. The greens were seasoned just right and had a really good flavor. The lima beans were cooked to perfection. The sweet potato soufflé is probably one of the best that I’ve ever had. The only thing that I missed was the cornbread and I don’t know If I just forgot to get it or if it was not available today. Overall, the service was excellent and the food was good. I recommend that you check this place out. they have plenty of entrees and vegetables. They also have really good portion sizes and there’s plenty to eat later. I saw the advertisement for the Memphis black restaurant week and decided to give them a try and this exceeded my expectations.
