In 1995 founders Bruce Dean and Bob & Laurie Manley opened the first Black Bear Diner in Mt. Shasta, CA. Best use of my money honestly. I am a cery big snob when it come to breakfast and this place it the mark. Everything was giant first of all. I had leftovers for two days. The server was so helpful and very friendly. The coffee is not the best, that would be my only quoral with the place, but thats just because my family are coffee snobs.

Went here for lunch, they said they have a new system so they might take awhile to serve us BUT NO. It doesn’t feel like a wait at all.
Got fish and chips with onion rings and they’re all very good, the crisps is 10/10
I didn’t try what my husband had (a burger), but he said it was good.
There’s a souvenir store as well and everything there looks cute! The decoration is rustic and giving lodges vibes which I really enjoy.
Overall super satisfied and might come back again for other stuff!

This is the second year of having XMAS breakfast and we are making it a tradition!!! The food is excellent along with waiters…I had the best chicken fried steak and gravy..everything was fresh and delicious.I am usually not a big fan of pancakes but their sweet cream pancakes have converted me, so delish. FOR 3 people the bill was reasonably; $80 bucks and very well worth it. If you haven’t tried this diner you are missing out.

If I could give them ZERO Stars I would!!! We were seated fine, then it took 20 mins for any service to come to our table we ordered drinks (3 waters and a diet coke) it then took another 15 mins to get the drinks. Our food took about another 20 mins to come out. When food got there they brought me the wrong order, I took it cause who knows how long it would have taken to fix it. They were cold pancakes, the absolute disgusting pancakes ever. IDK how you mess up pancakes that bad? Then!!!!! It took 25 mins to get any service at our table to see if we needed boxes or ask if we were ready for the check! When someone finally came she brought the wrong check, and after I told the manager about all the horrible service she didnt do anything about it, except talk rudely about the server. She should not be a manager! And then to find out they do not offer any military or service discount was shocking.

The food was very good and came out very good. Environment was clean and Warm! Memo The manager was also frequently checking on us and all the other tables for refills and any other needs. Always nice to know the staff cares about the customers experience 10/10 would recommend.

This place is such an amazing diner!!! Came here for a celebratory breakfast and did not leave disappointed. Not only did my waitress have the same name as me, but she had amazing energy and was so awesome. I had the pancakes, eggs and bacon. Others at my table had the ‘little less’ biscuits and gravy. Those things were HUGE!!! My youngest daughter got the cinnamon roll French toast. Everything was delicious. Can’t wait to come back. Also the huckleberry lemonade was to die for!!

I had a bacon cheeseburger with thick meaty bacon crumbles, cheese, lettuce, thick sliced tomatoes, & yummy dill pickles on a toasted brioche bun that was the best burger I had in several years. I could also trade out sides & my onion rings were softly crunchy good!
