My mom took me here Forgot what my burger was called but it was delicious. It was the first burger on the menu I added on bacon it came with everything else like lettuce, onion, mayo, tomato pickle beef, and cheese with lots of french fries! The staff was really nice and friendly came in the morning time it was a very chill atmosphere lots of people getting together saw a few booths shaped like older cars overall a very nice eating out experience for me and my mom Accidentally ate my burger too soon. Didn’t know I was going to take a picture and do a review lol it’s cut in half an eaten on. It looked a lot better whenever it was brought out!

Hostess didn’t seem thrilled to be there, however the server Madison made up for it. Friendly and helpful.
Food came out super hot! I understand that some may not agree with this, but they made incredible French fries—perfectly crispy- not every where can do that!
The syrup for my Belgian waffle was warm!

Dropped in here for a quick lunch and got seated fast. The hostess and waitress were super friendly and were on top of things. The food came out super quick and was fantastic. The okra tasted homemade and didn’t have the frozen taste that some other restaurants have with theirs. Everything was super hot and super good! At the end of the meal our waitress got our drinks to go and even refilled them for the road. An excellent mom and pop style diner jazzed out in 50s decor with Elvis,Marilyn, and more. The music matched the decor as well and was a pleasant meal to say the least!

Tally’s Café: A Nostalgic Gem with Room for Improvement

An unexpected turn of events led us to Tally’s instead of our originally planned restaurant. All it took was me mentioning how much I love breakfast food on a cold day—no matter the time—and the search was on. We wanted something local and classic, beyond the usual chain options, and Google Maps pointed us to Tally’s.

Now, I was already aware of this place and had tried to visit once before, only to find it closed for a holiday. After that, it faded from my radar, but I was glad to see it open this time—and nearly empty, promising quick service.

From the moment I walked in, I fell in love with the decor. It’s nostalgic yet stylish, not your typical dimly lit, outdated diner. The beautiful floors, well-thought-out wall art, and a splendid bar gave the place a polished charm. But would the food and service match the ambiance?

Our young waitress carried herself with experience, promptly bringing our drinks. Then, a lovely older lady took over, showcasing her hospitality skills like a pro. She made us feel genuinely welcome.

The menu featured all the diner classics, available any time of day—exactly what I was hoping for. My choice was easy: the 3X3X3. While waiting, I checked out the bathrooms, which—like the rest of the place—were impeccably designed, clean, and pleasantly scented.

Back at the table, our food arrived. The portions were just right—not overwhelming but satisfying. My pancakes were slightly undercooked, though not enough to ruin the meal. The rest of the family enjoyed their dishes, and we all agreed we’d return—this time without the kids—to explore the bar.

I can easily see this place offering two hours of live music on Friday and Saturday nights, which would add an even livelier touch to an already great atmosphere.

A Small but Painful Oversight

One issue, however, needs attention. There was ice on the ground, and while I eventually found the main entrance, it wasn’t obvious at first. We ended up walking around to another set of stairs—unfortunately, uncleared of ice. I slipped and landed hard on my backside. It hurt like crazy.

Now, I take full responsibility for my fall, but a little extra salt on all possible walkways—or at least blocking unsafe areas—could prevent someone from getting seriously injured. Some people would see this as a lawsuit opportunity.

Final Thoughts

Aside from my icy misadventure, Tally’s delivered a nostalgic yet joyful experience. The atmosphere, service, and overall vibe made it a place worth revisiting. Next time, I’ll just watch my step.

Thank you, Tally’s team!

I love the atmosphere here, it takes me back to the 60’s an authentic old style cafe.
People its very warm and welcoming. Great customer service always very attentive.
Very clean restaurant overall, clean bathrooms available.
Fair prices, last time we were there we paid 57 dollars for 2 adults and a child we had enough food though.
Food its pretty good and fresh. I think the gravy wasnt super amazing but I am still giving them a 5 because I think I just dont like it.
They seem pretty busy most times, it did take them about 20min to have our food ready so keep that in mind when you go.

We waited about 15 minutes for our order to be taken, as they only had one waitress working and it was extremely busy. The cinnamon roll was fresh out of the oven and delicious. The table they sat us at was dirty from previous diners with trash left behind. The waitress was very polite and did the best she could given the circumstances, but the woman who took us to our seats did little to help her.

They had me with the giant Elvis at the door! Avocado toast and eggs was flavorful and filling, and my friend had the strawberry cheesecake pancakes. Both of us were surprised at how well-seasoned everything was…nothing was too sweet or salty, and both were generous portions. Definitely a new favorite!

I just visited Tally’s for the first time today with my mom and we absolutely LOVED it! The atmosphere is so fun and retro! We even got to sit in a pink car booth! There’s photos of Marilyn Monroe, James Dean, and Elvis everywhere and they even have a full service bar! The bar lights up! Love this place and we will definitely be back!

Great retro diner with Marilyn Monroe and Elvis everywhere. The menu is varied, the food was good and the portions are pretty large….so you better be hungry. The chicken fried steak sandwich is insanely huge and very tender. The service was a little lackluster though. But anyplace that serves adult milkshakes gets a pass and I will assume it was a fluke our server was slow and obviously not happy to be working there. I would definitely recommend going there and it is a great place for the family with tons of choices.
