Ocean Eddie’s Seafood Restaurant is located at the Virginia Beach Oceanfront where the Virginia Beach Fishing Pier is located. There is parking available at the fishing pier for the restaurant. During certain times of the year (especially summer) where there will be a fee for parking. My visit here was on January 20, 2026.
You can see the overall building from the parking lot there for the fishing pier. The fishing pier is closed this time of year, but this restaurant is just before the main fishing pier. You can tell this business and structure have been around for quite a while (in a good way). The first entrance from the structure is the gift shop, and the other one is the entrance to the restaurant.
When you first come inside, you can see it looks like a fishing/seafood type of place, which is fitting for where it is. At the time my mom and I came in, it wasn’t busy. This 3:30 pm, so it might have been early for others to come in. We were greeted at the host stand and we were immediately seated in the main dining area of the restaurant.
A few moments later our server Kierston came to the table. She introduced herself and asked what we wanted to drink and if we had any questions about the menus. It would take us a little while to decide what we wanted to get. This was our first time here as we like to check out places that are new to us during the Restaurant Week. We did get to see the ocean where we were seated too.
After some time, we were ready to order. I decided to go with the Hot Salmon Dip as the appetizer, Roasted Chicken as the entree, and Chocolate Ooey Gooey Butter Cake as the dessert. My mom got the same dessert too, but she got the Beer Battered Shrimp as the appetizer and the Lobster Mac & Cheese as the entree.
About five to ten minutes after ordering, the appetizers came out to the table. The Hot Salmon Dip looked really good too. It came with tortilla chips and Ritz crackers. The dip was satisfying. The Beer Battered Shrimp looked good too. After about ten minutes, the entrees came to the table. The Chicken, Green Beans, and Mashed Potatoes looked good, as well as the Lobster Mac & Cheese my mom got. The chicken was good, but it was hard to get the skin off. It was fine once I was able to get it off. It was pretty stuck on there. The green beans and mashed potatoes were good complements though. My mom said the Lobster Mac & Cheese was good, but it was very salty. The last course of the visit was the Chocolate Ooey Gooey Butter Cake. That was quite an indulgence and that was very good and very rich in flavor.
This was a good visit overall. There wasn’t anything that gave me a wow factor to go above a 3-star rating at this time. The service was good and the food was good. Maybe it was just an off kind of day since we were the only ones there when we got there. I would likely come back another time to try the regular menu. They do a have a good drink list for those that drink alcohol.

Great vibes here! If you’re gonna eat lunch or dinner on the coast you might as well do it on the pier! Fantastic views while you eat. We sat at the bar outside. Food is a tad pricey but to be expected for the area. Food was delicious and the ooey gooey butter cake was insanely good. Also killer views of the choppers and jets flying over while you eat!

Service is slow but staff are friendly. It wasn’t packed but food took a long time and was just okay. We opted to sit inside to stay cool – our table had a beautiful view of the beach. A person walks around taking photos and at the end of your meal, they’ll give you a free postcard style photo and then will try to sell you the same image but framed.

This was an incredible experience. Ocean Eddie’s is hands down the best restaurant I’ve been to probably anywhere.
First, it’s on the pier. We literally ate dinner with the waves crashing under our feet. The experience is incredible.
Second, the food is amazing. We had a seafood dinner at another restaurant in VB, and it was okay but nothing compared to Ocean Eddie’s. I ordered the crab cakes and truly the best I’ve had from anywhere. Usually when I go to a seafood restaurant the cole slaw is not very edible, but even that was delicious.
Lastly, the thing that just made the whole evening perfect is the amazing staff we had!! We sat at the outdoor bar which was amazing and had the perfect view. Alexa and Lauren were incredible! They were so friendly, checked in with – everyone – often. That’s always appreciated but with how busy they were, it was incredible they kept up like they did! Both ladies were amazing but I have to give even a little extra shoutout to Alexa. My husband is Type 1 diabetic and she was very understanding and helpful. Even offered to let us know when the food would be out so that he could bolus – they were super busy so it was a bit of a wait on the food, which was perfectly fine and worth the wait, but her going that extra mile to help him with timeframes since he needs to bolus before eating was amazing. This was a wonderful experience and we will absolutely be back. This will be a VB favorite for us from now on!

We went for dinner. The view is so incredible. We sat outside, the weather was great. Our waitress was so nice. They didn’t have any banana liquor for my daiquiri so I stuck with soda. Bummed. We shared a bowl of seafood chowder, a side house salad and a crabby smash burger. The salad was an impressive size for a side and the ranch dressing was nice and thick. We skipped the feta cheese. Lots of green lettuce that I appreciate and had 2 different sizes of tomatoes. The chowder was great. The smash burger crab layer looked bigger in the reviews. The fries were nice and crispy, I love them that way. We couldn’t taste the crab. It was a very thin patty. I love pickles but they overpowered the burger. Not the waitress drops your food off. Make sure to catch them or think of things ahead of time to have them when food arrives. We needed to catch our waitress for vinegar and silverware. Overall a good experience but would not get the crabby burger again.

The restaurant is right on the pier overlooking the beach. Althought the atmosphere was cool, the food was kind of mid. $70 for one drink and crab legs/shrimp. The burgers are good for people who dont like seafood.

Our server/bartender was the best!!! I wish I could remember his name, he was the politest and absolutely the best most personable!! (We were there from July 10-14,2025)..But OMG! the food is amazing, went there everyday on vacation and had absolutely the best food every time…when we went somewhere else we wished we had just went there!!!!!! Right on the boardwalk so easily accessible!!! Don’t even bother going anywhere else as the food and drinks and atmosphere here make it the absolutely best place to go on the strip or even close to the strip!!! Pay for the parking it’s worth it!!! The crushes!!!!! Get the crushes, the creamsicle ones are the best imo!!!! I can not wait to get back to Ocean Eddie’s!
