Arrived at 6pm on a Saturday and was very happy to get a seat. We sat in the backroom which was a little quieter. They have PAGES of cocktails sorted by spirit. I had my usual French 75 and loved it. I was so impressed with the food! It was affordable, smaller portions and we loved it. We had the frisee salad, steak tartar, trout and the duck confit. All of them were simply delicious. I’ll be putting this place on my rotation list for sure. Service was great. Parking in that area is a little rough, took me 10min to find a spot 5 blocks away. Won’t stop me from coming back!

Visiting from out of town and Wanted a late dinner with romantic vibes and this fit perfectly. tasty food. Got the steak frites and trout with salad and omg that salad -five stars! Pear apple daikon? Idk but I need the recipe pleaseee. The steak was well crusted that I ordered another and subbed the frites for salad because we needed more. Our server was great and putting in work all night so props to him! Drink was good they have a room in the back suitable for larger groups and a more quiet space. Only recommendation is music needs tuning because it was putting me to sleep lol

This bar came highly recommended by another bartender; we were looking for someplace cozy to have an amazing cocktail. Well, I wanted so badly to like it here, but yikes. The atmosphere was delightful and the bartender really was kind, but I don’t think he knew what he was doing. Our drinks were awful, and WOW were they expensive. We ordered two apiece to give them the benefit of the doubt, but no, nothing changed.

I have become a regular at Angel Face after enjoying it on occasion for years. They have an amazing and extensive menu of classic cocktails to choose from. The food is very good as well. At my latest visit, a friend and I wanted to try some of their vermouths and the very welcoming bar staff worked with us to put a flight together. We had a very enjoyable and interactive session with the bar team as we sip. It was really lovely and felt like old friends by the end of the evening there. I strongly recommend you give it a try.

Angel Face is that seen and be seen kind of place. It’s super low key early when it opens, which is the best time to go. Know that they don’t take reservations and it’s very, very small inside. The feel is sord of speakeasy meets cocktail lounge. The cocktails here on what you come for. My rating for “food” is actually for the cocktails. We didn’t eat any of the food – it’s simply snacks really and the menu is short (and seems overpriced). But the cocktails get an A+. I had a Gimlet and it was fantastic. Reasonably priced at $12, which seem the going rate for cocktails here in Portland. The wine list was interesting but expect super high prices for a glass of wine. Cocktails were in some cases less expensive. And it’s what this place is known for. The service was hit and miss. When we arrived we at first sat at a small table in front but it wasn’t big enough for our group of five. So we asked the server if we could move to the bar, which we did. They were accomondating. Until the place got more crowded and then they didn’t enjoy the fact that people were standing up. It’s pretty tight space and when people arrive and wait for a table or a spot at the bar, it gets uber crowded. We had reservations around the corner at Grana, so we finished our drinks and went to our reservation for dinner a little early. We left at about 6PM and Angel Face was already packed. Mind you it was Saturday evening, and during the week it may be less crowded. But, word to the wise, go early. You’ll have a much better experience if you do. Much quieter atmosphere and you’ll actually be able to have a conversation without appearing to yell above the fray. Go for the cocktails (A+) but skip the food. If you don’t want to be part of the “scene” then this probably isn’t the place.

Found this place almost by accident and so happy we did! Wide selection of drinks. Ours were perfect! Not to large but didn’t feel crowded. Decor felt authentic to a cocktail bar. Highly recommend.

Great cocktail place! Highly recommend.
Limited indoor seating means you may need to either wait or be ok with outdoor seating. We opted for sitting next to the nice fire place outside.
The cocktail menu is not extensive by any means but the bartenders are quite knowledgeable so you are good as long as know your drink.
They offer snacks and other small dishes to go with drinks but don’t expect a full on meal.
The atmosphere is quite energetic and young. It’s a great place to catch up with your friends over some classic cocktails (E.g., whiskey sour)

Angel Face was a real treat on the first night during our trip to Portland. Seating is very limited, which lends to the incredible speakeasy atmosphere inside. Service was exceptional throughout, with thoughtful recommendations and quick turnaround. While there are many spirits listed on the menu, the main draw of Angel Face is that they create custom cocktails based on a customer’s preference. Definitely had the best dry and dirty martini here as a result. Absolutely will be back.

Angelface is a perfect match for any evening looking for bright vibes, a delicately polished pretty environment, amazing service and delicious food.. inside and outside. While all the local menu ingredients are delicious, the oysters are always perfect… love the creative salads too.

Really neat little spot in Portland. We went for a post-dinner drink on our 5yr anniversary and loved the music and ambiance.
Service was quick and Fara was incredibly nice and accommodating.
We will definitely be back and bring more friends with us.
Thanks for helping us celebrate 5 years!
