Andy Perugino’s Restaurant is a cozy Italian restaurant located on Charles Street in Luzerne, Pennsylvania. In addition to Italian dishes such as spaghetti and fettuccine, one can also enjoy a steak, prime rib, and a variety of seafood plates as well. The staff is very friendly, pleasant, and well-dressed, adding some charm to the establishment.

We arrived on time for our Saturday evening, 6:30 reservations, although I don’t think reservations were really required. There were about 15 tables available, with about four being occupied. The dining room was quiet with an empty bar in the corner with a sports program silently playing on the television placed above the bar.

For starters, we ordered a salad and chicken tortellini soup, which were uninspiring. The salad consisted of a cucumber slice, a couple of cherry tomatoes, onion, iceberg lettuce, and a smattering of shredded carrots, and the dressing came in a plastic cup. The soup was very bland, and the cheese tortellini was a bit soggy.

On the other hand, the entrees were pretty satisfying. The lasagna came with a rich tomato sauce, and my mouth was filled with creamy cheese with every bite. The eggplant parmigiana was also exciting. Again, the sauce was delicious, and the eggplant very tenderful and flavorful. The entrees came with a side, and we each ordered angel hair pasta with marinara sauce. The marinara was also flavorless, and we found ourselves transplanting the pasta onto our main dishes.

The homemade desserts were very pleasing. The chocolate peanut butter pie was decadent and silky smooth, and the lemon meringue pie was deliciously tart and the curd light and fluffy.

Overall, the hits overshadowed the misses. The comfortable atmosphere was accented by the staff’s effort to please, which made for a welcoming experience. It’s worth giving Andy Perugin’s Restaurant a shot.

Awesome, awesome, awesome dinner. My go-to at Perugino’s is the broiled seafood platter. Other’s ordered the scallop special, chicken ala andy and chicken marsala. We arrived at 5pm and the place was empty. When we left at 6:30 the entire place was jumping. Glad we came early

Fantastic food, not like the chain restaurants! True Italian dishes, will not disappoint. Ray Fedor the new owner will take care of you, he cares very much about his customers. Ray purchased the restaurant from long term owner Andrea who was also exceptional taking care of my family for decades.

Just happened to search through Google to look for something other than a regular chain restaurant. To our surprise everything was great. The food, the atmosphere and definitely our server David. Will definitely be coming back!

First thing I noticed was when we sat down every glass on the table was dirty.
The service was not good, one waitress was nice. But the other was very rude and seemed like it was a bother for our table to even be dining there. Mind you, we were a large party so I understand it can be a bit much. But we called a bit ahead of time to make sure they were ok with us coming and they were.
Then after a couple baskets with a few pieces of bread (mind you we were a party of 13) they came and said that they ran out of bread for the entire week. Which is crazy because I asked a different waitress and suddenly she shows up with more.
Took about an hour and a half to even get the food. The food was not great at all and extremely overpriced. Nothing tasted fresh.
Then after that we got the check. On the menus it said with parties of 10 or more there is an 18% gratuity automatically included in the check, which is fine. We don’t mind. We had a couple separate checks, and when we got them the gratuity we were charged was 20%. I will never go there again. I can’t believe I spent 90$ on a mediocre meal for me, my husband and my 6 year old. Will never go again

I don’t usually write reviews, but I felt compelled to share this experience. Honestly, I’m baffled by the positive reviews this place has received. Maybe it was an off day, but the food was extremely disappointing, and that’s putting it kindly.

It started with a cup of chicken pastina soup, which was nothing more than old broth with mushy star pasta. There was no chicken, no celery, just bland and unappealing. The bread in the bread basket was stale.

Next came the salads, which were simply a handful of iceberg lettuce with a few shreds of carrot and a single cherry tomato. Barely passable as a salad.

When our main dishes arrived, we were surprised to see there was no pasta accompaniment. I ordered the chicken ala Andy, and my wife had the eggplant rollatini. My chicken was clearly not fresh, it was tough, dry, and tasted like it had been sitting in a fridge for several days. The lemon garlic glaze was lukewarm and didn’t do much to help.

My wife’s dish was even worse. The eggplant was spoiled, and the ricotta had a foul odor that was honestly nauseating. There was no question that the ingredients were far past their prime.

Neither of us could eat the food, it wasn’t even something we’d feel comfortable feeding to our dogs. It’s unfortunate, but based on our experience, we won’t be returning.

Food was great and portion size was very large. Nice people. We had 6 people for small birthday. They assisted with cake and helped with cutting cake and extra plates. Prices were good

We recently rediscovered this restaurant. We thought it closed due to covid. I have been there many times over the years and the food was always delicious and it still is. We really enjoy the food and atmosphere. The place hasn’t changed inside at all, but it’s a cozy, friendly place to go.
