This was my second time visiting Balos this month. The first experience was very pleasant and welcoming, which is what brought me back so quickly. This time, we were celebrating my cousin’s birthday, so we were really looking forward to another great night.

The service inside was excellent, the food was great, and the entertainment added a really nice touch to the atmosphere. Overall, the vibe once seated was enjoyable and made for a fun celebration.
However, the experience at the front door was disappointing. Some of the greeters were noticeably rude to the point that I felt compelled to mention it to the owner. First impressions matter, and the tone is set before guests even make it to their table. Hospitality goes a long way, especially when you’re celebrating something special.

I’ll probably give Balos one more attempt because the food and overall experience inside truly are good. But let’s be honest, there’s amazing food all over DC, and I’m going to spend my money where I feel fully welcomed and valued. A little hospitality goes a long way.

10/10!! By far top 5 places I have dined in DC so far and top 3 for Brunch!! They keep the bottomless drinks flowing and the espresso martinis are *chefs kiss*! The food is so delicious and the portions are generous. We were full from the appetizers before the main course even arrived. I highly recommend the hummus trio to start which was served with perfectly warmed pitas. They had live music during brunch and the guitarist even sung happy birthday to our table. It was an overall wonderful experience with a price to match but very much worth it.

We came here with eight girls for Galentine’s Day. We made reservations, and they required the entire party to arrive before seating us.

We ordered the bottomless espresso martinis, and the server came around with a cart to refill them even before we were done! The drinks were absolutely delicious, and the food was just as good.

Considering how packed the restaurant was during brunch, the service was top-notch, thank you Nico! The place was full and definitely noisy, but it added to the fun, energetic atmosphere. They also had a live singer who was entertaining.

I’ll definitely be back and would highly recommend this spot for great martinis and delicious Greek food!

Excellent dining experience! Bar service was great before we were seated. Our waiter; phenomenal, and suggested how to handle our group of 5. We were all able to taste a great selection of food. Drinks were very strong too. The Atmosphere and decor was top notch ( I’m a dexor snob!). 5 stars all around!!!

Went to Balos for brunch yesterday. The restaurant is beautiful and the ambiance was nice. It was a little loud because it was pretty busy but we could still talk/hear comfortably. Our server was Jose and he was amazing!! Seriously 10/10 service. I didn’t get the name of the woman doing the tableside espresso martinis but she was also lovely. We did the three course power brunch for $45 per person and the bottomless drinks for $45 per person. Between the 4 of us, we ordered the Greek salad, spanakopita, shakshouka, steak & eggs, brunch burger, cheesecake, baklava and galaktoboureko. Everything was delicious!

Our only qualms were with the drink/bar service. 3 of us wanted espresso martinis for our bottomless drinks but it took a while to get them so we were only able to order 3 in our time limit. Jose was great though and noticed the wait so he was giving us some champagne/prosecco(?) until we got the drinks we ordered but I’m not a huge fan of bubbly so I declined it after a while. Maybe they can look into having more bartenders on shift to cut down wait times? Not sure.

This is officially one of my new favorite restaurants. I came with a small group to celebrate my friends’ and my birthday. We did have to wait past our reservation time, but once we sat down, we forgot all about it because our experience was truly outstanding.

The manager was so kind and accommodating during our wait. Our server, Niko, was exceptional and truly the best server I have ever had at any restaurant. You can tell this place truly cares about the experience for all of their guests. The food and drinks were incredible. Everything was easily a 1000/10. The napkin toss was such a fun and unique touch, and we loved every minute of it.

From the friendly host, to the understanding manager, to our amazing server Niko, plus the exceptional food, this was hands down one of the best dining experiences ever.

Highly recommend!

One of exceptional Michelin Chef restaurants with sky-high flavorful luscious food and bigger size of portions compared to usual size you would get in fine dining restaurants. The staff are unexceptionally helpful and they can even customize the food as you wish. Nothing shy of a perfection! The cheese entrée hits Fondue fromage by far for cheese lovers. I rate their entrées even better than their main dishes…
Lastly they even surprised us with complementary dessert as it was a birthday event. !!Just impeccable!!

I loved everything about Balos. The energy is felt from the moment you walk in. Service is top notch. Food is superb. We started with beet salad and tuna tartare. Both were phenomenal. The beet salad was so fresh and it helped open my appetite. For dinner we had the branzino and Brussels sprouts. Loved the fish. Came filleted and butterflied. For dessert we had the Greek yogurt and passion fruit sorbet. The sorbet was absolutely delicious. To top off the night we experienced a Greek napkin night and it was one of the coolest things I’ve ever experienced.

Just 5 friends, old and new, planning our next soca excursion whilst plotting to take over the world in an elegant environment with high quality food and effective drinks. Much thanks for another superb experience. Niko made the day extra special!

Went to Balos during Restaurant Week. Overall, it was fine, but not really worth the hype for me. It also felt a bit overpriced for what you get.
Even with a reservation, the wait time was frustrating. Once seated, though, the service was quick and our waiter was genuinely nice and attentive, especially considering how insanely busy it was.
The food was just okay. Nothing bad, but nothing memorable either. Since it was Restaurant Week, it felt even less worth it when they ran out of dessert, which was disappointing. On the plus side, the drinks were very strong and the DJ was good.
The bathroom situation is honestly wild. They only have four bathrooms, and the line takes forever. To make it worse, they allow regulars to cut the line, which was pretty annoying.
It was fun for a bit when they started throwing napkins. I experienced it once and that part was entertaining, but overall I probably wouldn’t come back.
