Whenever you’re driving to Chicago this is a must stop! Their jumbo chili cheese dog is amazing and you have to get the chocolate cake shake! Fluffy wasn’t lying. Friendly staff and very clean bathrooms

Portillo’s is a place with a truly unique atmosphere. The interior is something special — the details, the lighting, the style. It gives the space a character of its own, and you can recognize it from a single photo. That alone makes the visit enjoyable.
The hot dogs, cheeseburgers, and classic dishes are always at a solid level — consistent and tasty. It’s the kind of place you come back to for the familiar quality.
Honestly, I wanted to give it 5 stars, but the overall organization occasionally falls behind a bit. During busy hours there can be small delays, which slows things down. So it’s a fair 4 stars, but with plenty of respect. The atmosphere and style are still better than many chain restaurants.

Out here from Cleveland to visit a friend that recommended Portillo’s. The food and service was excellent! Love the Italian beef sandwich! Also liked the Chicago dog as well!
There was a little mishap with my order being lost, however they were dedicated to making it right and even offered a complimentary slice of cake. So excellent service as well!

Food is good, but ONLY WHEN YOU GET WHAT YOU ORDER. Ordered delivery twice in the past couple weeks and there were missing items. This was not DoorDash’s mistake, because they package the food at the restaurant. Portillo’s stated solution when you call them to complain is to come pick up the missing item. Um, what? Or you can leave them a review and you get a lame credit for free fries on your next order. Was missing a $8 fish sandwich last time. Called to ask that they refund my credit card. They said they would, but it’s been over a week now and no refund.

Food was absolutely fantastic, as is the atmosphere. However, service is absolutely lacking. When it comes to someone checking your table to see if everything is okay By asking How is your food? Do you need a refill on your drink? There is absolutely no service whatsoever table side!

Diego was the man tonight!
This was my first visit to this location. Customer service was great at the order station, but it was even better at the pick-up station.
This location was very neat and clean. It was moderately busy, and I noticed quite a few people were leaving with large trays of food. I’m assuming people were eating real good at home tonight.

I had been told this is one of those “must visit” places when visiting Chicago. I would definitely agree: you need to go here while in Chicago!
We tried the Italian Beef sandwich, the combo (Italian Beef + Sausage), Hot Dog, Double Burger, Bacon Cheeseburger, fries, and onion rings.
The Italian Beef was pretty good, but the Combo was where this place shines. The combination of Italian Beef and the sausage was very good.
While I didn’t personally taste the burgers, they looked good and I was told by those who did taste them that they WERE good!
The fries were pretty good (crinkle cut fries), and the onion rings were good.
Overall the food was good, the service was good, and this is a place that is definitely worth a visit!

Always good service here. Came for dinner and always enough space to find a table without waiting. Theres a self order kiosk or you can order at the register. We got the big beef with hot poppers and it was a really big size even enough for 2 to split it. Kids got a jumbo hotdog and they loved it. Always have to get some cheese fries with our meal. Will be coming back, this location never disappoints.

I ordered an Atlantic cod fried fish sandwich and large cheese fries through Uber Eats. Besides the driver initially passing up my location, when I received my food it was cold and neither the fish nor fries were cooked properly. The fries were cold and noticeably undercooked. The fish sandwich had soggy and wilted lettuce on it. The breaded fish itself was overcooked, hard and shriveled up. This is the second bad experience ordering from this location and three is not a charm with me. I work to hard for mine.

The onions are not offered with the beef sandwich, only peppers but got them with the dogs separately. This should change on the menu! Overall, choices place for drive thru or eat in!
