Everything we have ever done in the restaurant business is to celebrate food. Professionally trained in Switzerland with a degree in culinary arts, Amit has worked alongside his parents, Alka and Omi, who opened the India House in 1984 in Northampton. Now the UMASS alum has come to Amherst to open his latest restaurant, Campus Pizza! Dishing out pizzas, grinder, wings and more. Along with the traditional fare, look forward to some twists on the classics with a touch of Indian flavoring.

We used Campus Pizza to provide post game meals for our lacrosse team and the service was excellent, prices good and the food delicious! They delivered meals for 70 people right to us in the parking lot beside the field and even numbered each item by jersey number for easy distribution. Highly recommend using them to cater for your team event!

Ok. So I didn’t order the pizza but I opted in for wings. I asked them for Extra sauce on the wings. And I ordered the Buffalo, honey bbq & the Korean sticky. Umm so the wings are great size! Not small like other places. Good full sized wings. The Korean sticky, wasn’t spicy at all. Like it claimed to be. But had an “alright” taste.. not terrible. But not what I was expecting. The Honey BBQ, yeah. No thanks. That was the cheapest maybe even Kraft brand honey bbq sauce ever lol. And Kraft is the worst lol. And then the Buffalo wasn’t horrible. But wasn’t the best. There was more heat than flavor. Could use more flavor. But again the size of the wings were bigger than what u get at most places. So that’s a bonus.
I asked for extra sauce on the wings of the flavors I requested and got wings BARELY covered in sauce lol. So that was a bummer & disappointment there, especially because I confirmed with the guy 4x over the phone about the extra sauce on the wings. And he assured me there would be. But then when asking for Blue cheese, most places especially in amherst, have their own “restaurant made” or “homemade style” blue cheese in 2-4oz cups with lids. This place does not!!. You get a small 2oz pre-packaged Kens brand blue cheese packet. & they only give you ONE for any size order of wings. Charge you extra $ for each additional you ask for. So yeah, NOT what I was expecting.
I think my expectations for this place were higher because of the last owner of the pizza place that was in that spot, & how she had AWESOME really good quality food & it was always done very well. Not cheap. & she had good prices as well.
I think this place definitely has potential to be even better than what they are right now. But as with all restaurants, they learn as they go. So hopefully they get some better quality sauces for their wings, and learn to make their blue cheese themselves or opt in for “restaurant style made” blue cheese & put it in little cups themselves. Anything but them packets they are handing out now.
EVEN THOUGH I didn’t order their pizza, I will say, during the few min I was there picking up my order I must have seen 6 diff types of pizza slices come up for peoples orders and THEY DID LOOK GOOD! But not everything that looks good, tastes good lol. So I doooo plan on trying their pizza at some point. Maybe not too soon (because of this expensive disappointing experience) but eventually.

This menu doesn’t work for this service line. :/ made my naans 20 mins before the entree and asked me if I wanted to eat the naan while I waited for my Paneer Tikka Masala. 10-12 orders got served before they put in out in take away boxes.

Now that the place is under new ownership – Sunset Grill and pizza, we have been there 3 times now and the food is amazing, the Nellys Sandwich with green apple, provolone and avocado was fantastic. The staff is great and the place is beautiful. Our new favorite spot to go!
