San Laurel, from Michelin-starred chef José Andrés at the Conrad Los Angeles, builds a culinary bridge between the Iberian Peninsula and Southern California. Using the freshest sustainable produce from local farmers’ markets in Los Angeles, our cuisine marries bold, beautiful Spanish flavors with the bounty of the Golden State. Named for the aromatic bay laurel, itself a transplant from the Mediterranean to coastal California, San Laurel’s inspiration stretches from Spain to the glimmering shores of the Pacific.

You think you get every dish when you read it on the menu, or at least most, but then when you get it and eat it it’s a whole different thing.
Ever wondered what impeccably fried chicken would taste like with a furikake buttermilk sauce? Wonder no more! It’s amazing.
How about the best lox on a piece of toast you’ve ever had? Sounds easy and simple but here it’s a different level.
Really amazing food, drinks, service and view. It really is a destination that shouldn’t be missed if you’re visiting downtown LA.
We recently visited San Laurel at Conrad Los Angeles, and it was a memorable experience. The restaurant offers a unique and refined menu, even for just appetizers and drinks, which is what we had since we had another food venue planned afterward. Despite only ordering light bites, everything we tried was flavorful and beautifully presented.
The real standout, however, is the breathtaking view overlooking the Disney Concert Hall—absolutely stunning, especially as the sun sets. The contemporary yet luxurious interior design adds to the ambiance, making it feel upscale without being stuffy.
The staff were all incredibly friendly and professional, though it did feel a bit short-staffed during our visit, likely due to how busy it was. That said, service was still attentive and we never felt forgotten.
We parked with valet, and the $15 fee felt reasonable for downtown LA. Our check came out just over $200 for three cocktails and three appetizers, which is on the higher side, but the overall experience made it worthwhile—from the views to the vibe to the quality of food and drinks.
Definitely a spot I’d recommend for special occasions or a classy night out in the city.
The restaurant offers sweeping views of the City including the nearby Walt Disney Concert Hall and the space is airy and upscale featuring modern materials, a polished central bar and an outdoor terrace space that extends into the restaurant (when weather permits).
The $50 pre fixe for lunch is a standout deal and San Laurel is easily one of the best restaurants in the area. Perfect for a special occasion, pre-concert dinner, hotel treat or business lunch, San Laurel offers an excellent dining experience!
From the moment we arrived, Lisa, our host, made us feel welcome, and our server Johnny provided outstanding service—attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable.
We ordered the Scallops, Sea Bass, and Gambas, and every dish was beautifully prepared and absolutely delicious. The quality of the food and the care in presentation truly stood out.
We are so impressed with both the food and service and will definitely be returning. Highly recommend!
I came here for breakfast and ended up having one of the best meals during my time in LA. The steak was beautifully cooked and seasoned, super tender with a nice sear on the outside. The omelette was fluffy and rich, made with care and just the right balance of cheese and herbs. I also had a fresh salad that was so simple but crisp and flavorful. Everything was plated with a lot of attention to detail.
What really stood out for me was the yuzu coffee. It was such a fun and refreshing twist on a morning drink. The citrusy notes gave it a brightness that paired really well with the savory dishes and made the whole meal feel unique and memorable.
The service was equally excellent. The team was attentive and kind without being too present, and everything flowed really smoothly. It was a calm and refined way to start the day, especially in such a beautiful setting overlooking Grand Avenue.
Whether you’re staying at Conrad LA or just passing through downtown, San Laurel is worth visiting. It’s a place where the food, service, and design all come together so effortlessly. I’m already thinking about going back to try it for dinner next time.
The service was attentive and professional throughout the evening. Unfortunately, the night took a turn near the end when a fire alarm went off and blared for about 10 minutes. It disrupted the atmosphere completely, and like several other guests, we ended up leaving before finishing the service. It was a disappointing end to an otherwise excellent night.
Still, we’d absolutely recommend San Laurel for its food and service, hopefully with no unexpected interruptions next time.
