Most amazing restaurant ever. We’ve been coming for years. Started when Tyson Cole came in frequently and Paul Qui was here. We would drive from Clear Lake City just to eat here. Then an Uchi was opened in Houston so went there but would still always come to the original when in town. Having moved from Houston, it had been 1.5 years since having Uchi. So glad to go again. We enjoyed numerous tastings and some full orders. I didn’t bother with pics just savored each bite. The service is outstanding. Our server was David and he was very attentive and did an excellent job of meeting our every need. Our sushi bar server was Jeremy and he was also so helpful and attentive. We sat a the bar for a very short time and the female bartender was kind and allowed us a taste of sake. This entire experience felt so personalized. They know how to make each guest feel like most important person there.

This place is cool. Almost too cool. You walk in and for a moment wonder if you belong. But then the staff is beyond friendly. Everyone is so warm and welcoming and attentive. The food is incredible. Every bite unique and thoughtful. Excellent wine menu, ask the server about them…ours knew the flavor profiles off the top of her head. We felt so well taken care of and perfectly satisfied. Can’t wait to go back and try everything else. Parking is tough!

It’s hard to believe anyone has negative things to say about this place. From the moment you walk into Uchi, you’re warmly greeted by the hosts and immediately taken in by the beautiful atmosphere.

The ambiance is perfect for any occasion, and if you’re looking for phenomenal sushi paired with impeccable service, buckle up.

David, our server (an OG with over six years at Uchi), took incredible care of my friend and I. His recommendations and overall demeanor were spot on, he truly made the experience feel special! We were spoiled in the best way. Lots of the staff here are attentive, eclectic and super rad. They always make me feel like a regular (and I’m far from) when I come in.

Uchi consistently outdoes itself with the quality of its ingredients too. I mean, come on they’re flying in Tasmanian trout from Australia… and we’re in Texas!? That level of commitment says everything. Some of these dishes brought tears to my eyes. Thank again yall for outdoing it time after time.

My wife and I had an absolutely phenomenal experience at Uchi Austin. From start to finish, this was hands down our favorite omakase experience outside of Japan.

My wife opted for the vegetarian omakase, and we were both blown away by the creativity and execution. Vegetarian tasting menus can sometimes feel like an afterthought, but not here. Every course was thoughtful, beautifully presented, and packed with flavor. She confidently called it the best vegetarian set menu she has ever had.

I went with the Somakase and added a couple supplemental dishes, including the A5 Wagyu Hot Stone. In total I had about 15 dishes, and every single one delivered. The fish quality was phenomenal, incredibly fresh with precise, clean flavors that you would expect from top-tier sushi counters. And the Wagyu was outstanding, especially impressive given we are in the middle of Texas.

The beverage program also deserves serious credit. My wife had a couple martinis that she loved, and I enjoyed three different glasses of wine. The selections were excellent and paired beautifully with the progression of dishes.

Service was truly next level. The team operates like a well-honed machine: polished, attentive, and perfectly paced without ever feeling rushed. You can tell there is real pride in the craft here.

Even the logistics were smooth. Making the reservation through Resy was quick and painless, which set the tone for the evening.

Overall, an exceptional dining experience that we will absolutely be thinking about for a long time. If you are considering omakase in Austin, this place is a must.

I celebrated my birthday at Uchi Austin and had an amazing experience. Every sashimi we tried was outstanding, especially the gyutoro, zuwai gani, and the hama chili with orange ponzu. The Zero Sen roll was another highlight.

Our server recommended a sake that paired perfectly with everything, and the coconut tapioca dessert was a unique and beautifully balanced finish.

Great service, great atmosphere, and exceptional food. I’ll definitely be back.

Holiday dinner with my daughter. She loves Uchi. I’m also a fan.

Service was solid. Ambiance was great. Food was amazing.

We arrived during happy hour. The selection of drinks and food was generous and very tasty. We chose some main menu items too like the hot rock wagyu.

Overall another stellar experience at Uchi. Very consistent as always.

Thanks Uchi!

By far the best dining experience, we’ve had in a very long time. Wild place was packed, the service is still on point and the menu was quite an adventure. Definitely great value for money for what it is the freshest seafood we have had and some great options of seafood street from a famous Japanese food market. If we lived in Austin, this would definitely be a favorite date, night spot, or a place to celebrate with friends.

Uchi absolutely lives up to its reputation. The food quality and creativity are outstanding — every dish feels thoughtfully crafted with fresh ingredients and bold, well-balanced flavors. The sushi and Japanese-inspired plates are both innovative and beautifully executed.
The atmosphere is upscale yet comfortable, and the service complements the experience perfectly. It’s easy to see why Uchi is considered one of Austin’s top restaurants. A must-visit for anyone who appreciates creative, high-quality food.

This food was great, our favorites were the cold plates full of amazing textures and flavors. Desert is not to be skipped here so leave some room.

I love trying new places when I come to Austin and this is not too be missed and also the sister restaurant up the road which fusses bbq and Asian is unreal I visit there last year.

I haven’t been to Uchi in quite some time. The sushi was just as I remembered. Truly can’t get any better. We made a mistake this time and ordered the tasting menu (it’s always so tempting because of the price) and it had too many cooked dishes for our liking. And yes, the server tried to warn us so nobody’s fault but our own. We ordered a few more sushi bites to compensate and we were happy with the outcome ☺️Next time, I won’t wait so long to revisit.
