I was in the mood for some Ethiopian food (one of my favorite cuisines) and came across Street Injera, which serves East African cuisine. I assume that they’re Eritrean (Habesha cousins of Ethiopians) because the names of my favorite dishes seem to be a different language from their Ethiopian counterparts’ Amharic. But the flavor was never lost in translation!
I ordered Combo # 3 for $18.99. It comes with your choice of 4 vegetables (out of 5 preselected options) and one salad (out of three preselected choices). The side choices are quinoa, injera, or white rice. I confirmed with them that they use teff, meaning the injera is gluten free. They also offer 3 spice levels: regular, spicy, and extra spicy.
I love all five vegetable options so it was hard to decide. I ended up choosing the Red Lentils, Yellow Lentils, Tikil Gomen (the cabbage dish), and Collard Greens. Everything was excellent! 10/10! (Everything I ordered was vegan and gluten free.)
I ordered spicy because I love spicy food. But let me tell you… I was not prepared for the authentic African spices they hit me with. My bad! I will never underestimate them again. I had to literally sit the injera on my tongue first, then put the food in my mouth in order to finish my meal. LOL Next time I’ll be a good little American and order it the normal way. I’ll try their fosolia (green beans and carrots) next time. The Shiro also looks good, but it’s only available as a full entree.
They operate out of a food hall, so it’s take out only. I ordered online and my food was ready at the promised time. The customer service was excellent and the lady (whom I’m assuming was the owner) was very nice and helpful. I will definitely order from them again.

Im very appreciative to have this kind of food available in Nashville. I’ve only had this type of food previously when I was vegan at a location in South Nashville. Now that I am back on my plant based journey, I have found my way onto this little treasure. To me, this is a great alternative to soul food. I really wish I knew how to make red lentils taste like a meaty, fulfilling dish. Dont let me forget about the potato salad. It has a hint of American, but without the heavy mayo. Its very refreshing and pallet cleansing for spicy eaters. Very delicious and a fav of mine.
Although, its a virtual counter with no person 2 person interaction, I did get to meet the owner who was very kind and generous. I hope more people will try African food. I would eat it over the food i grew up on anyday.
Also, those spice levels are no joke. The food has plenty of flavor without the spice. YOUVE BEEN WARNED!

Amazing ethiopian food. Made fresh, clean and vegan. Highly recommended!
The owner was very kind! Great service. She went above and beyond and even offered us to eat there if more convenient. You can taste her kindness in the food!
No dine in. Only take out.

Great cuisine. Fresh and delicious and we appreciated the owner’s ad hoc accommodation!
Highly recommend this eatery for a homey & flavor rich East African meal. This food hits the spot.
And the owner is an extremely kind, personable and loves her craft.
PS. This is a take out only business at the moment.

The food here is absolutely delicious! The owner is so kind and generous with the portions. I highly recommend the Combo #6 platter, it lets you sample a little bit of everything. Also get the samosas! Every dish was packed with flavor and perfectly seasoned.

Decided to stop and try this place for dinner while traveling. Be advised that it is takeout only, and ordering ahead is recommended. The food was absolutely amazing. I got a Combo #6 to be able to try a sampling of meat and veggie dishes. The red lentils, cabbage/carrots/potatoes, and chicken and beef spicy stir fries were all exceptional. I would highly recommend one of the sambusas also. The portions are generous, the food is fresh, and the owner walked it out to me and spoke to me briefly. She is hoping to build up enough business to open a sit down space. Given this overall experience, I will keep ordering from here for now, and look forward to the next phase soon.

I love Ethiopian food in the DFW metroplex, but I have found my home spot in Nashville! THIS IS NOT A DINE-IN RESTAURANT- YOU ORDER YOUR FOOD TO GO. The owner is a beautiful soul who is very kind and loves what she does. You taste loving energy in her delicious food. The portions were enough that my husband and I had 2 meals from our orders. Customer service means the world to me and she checked all my boxes. Whenever business calls us back to Nashville, she’ll definitely be our “must-stop” place.

Note: this is a grab-and-go place! We didn’t realize until we were there. But the lovely owner was so welcoming — she went out of her way to seat us anyway and ensure we had a wonderful experience, serving us a delicious meal and checking on us to make sure everything was great. She is so hardworking and kind. Please support this up and coming homestyle eatery!

AMAZING FOOD! The woman who owns and manages this place goes above and beyond. She’s relatively new and trying to build her business up in this kitchen. When you buy the food she takes your order, cooks it, and brings it out to you. She does it all! When she brought out the food she was extremely personable and referred to her food as “her baby”. Any establishment with that level of authenticity and passion proves the food will be exceptional. HELP SUPPORT this woman and her small business. You wont regret it!

My husband and I stopped by the food hub there were 6 restaurant options and we chose this place. We are primarily vegan in our choices and we love Ethiopian food so this was an easy choice.
Let me say we are just passing through coming from Ohio so we had no idea what the food would taste like. We each ordered the 2 item sampler and chose yellow lentil stew, collard greens and mixed vegetables with injera bread and green salad for sides. We also ordered the green lentil sambusas.
THIS FOOD IS SO GOOD!!! And it is served in such generous amounts we couldn’t finish our order. I sincerely hope the restaurant is open the day we are traveling home so we can try more items.
There is outdoor seating but the area is too near cars and is not very picturesque. We found an area nearby and parked to enjoy the food.
