There was a line when we went but they are very efficient and organized. There is also more seating available upstairs. You get a table number, order first at the counter, and they bring the food to your table. This is a great spot for food.

My picks ranked:
Fried chicken
Mac and cheese
Dirty rice
Greens
Catfish – I think it’s good the way it’s fried but maybe catfish i just not my thing

After doing a little research, reading and hearing about Lil Dizzy’s Cafe having the BEST fried chicken in NOLA I had to make getting over there a priority. Let me tell yall Lil Dizzy’s did not disappoint, they are most certainly a top contender for the best fried chicken in New Orleans. I’ve visited a handful of times now and their fried chicken is absolutely on point. Consistently delicious! Flavorful, juicy, fresh, fried to perfection. Eating here will have you spoiled and comparing every other fried chicken joint to Dizzy’s. They have set the benchmark. Customer service and hospitality has been A1 on every visit, even during peak lunch rush. Never waiting more than 10-15 mins for my order. The dining room is always packed, full of life, with that awesome New Orleans vibe. Cheers to management and the staff for running Dizzy’s like a well oiled machine.

On my first visit, I decided that I would take my 30 min lunch break and head on over. When I pulled up, I kid you not there was a line that stretched from the front door and ran up the city block. I immediately thought to myself.. WOW! This has to be the spot and at the same time thinking there’s no way that I could wait in that line and make it back to work on time. To my surprise Dizzy’s has setup a TO GO window with a covered patio on the other side of the building. I found a spot to park and jumped in line. I ordered Eddie’s Famous 4 piece Fried Chicken with a side of fries and a Coke Zero. They had me out of there in just under 15 mins. It was a GREAT first impression and experience. They’ve locked me in, and have earned themselves a new loyal customer. Keep doing what yall are doing, EXCELLENT job.

If you’re in the area dont cheat yourself, treat yourself to Dizzy’s for lunch. You wont be disappointed.

Love L’il Dizzy’s!!
Location: L’il Dizzy’s is located centrally in the Treme’ neighborhood. There’s on street parking, and I’ve never had an issue finding a spot.
Service: I’ve dined in once w/friends, but mainly grab food to go. The service has been fast and efficient. I’ve never had to wait more than 5 minutes.
Food: I’ve enjoyed everything that I’ve ordered from here. Some of my favorites include: the stuffed bell pepper, the fried chicken, and the gumbo.

This was the best meal I had during my time in NOLA. The fried chicken was one of the best I’ve tasted. The gumbo was so delicious that I ordered an extra one to go. 10/10 – no notes, must visit, and head there early to line up.

Service and staff were warm, welcoming, and very efficient!

I love soul food!!! NOLA of course would have some awesome soul food… the owner made you feel welcomed from the line that was 30 minutes on MLK Day. But felt like only a few because of constant checkups. The regulars were greeted by name. This isn’t a tourist spot it’s frequent by the locals! Top dishes bread pudding, gumbo the tourist gumbo has nada on Dizzy’s, shrimp and Mac & cheese. We spent about $60 on lunch with flavored lemonades.

I enjoyed my food. It was a solid 8/10. I had the Saturday special (smothered pork chops over white rice), dirty rice, mac and cheese, fried chicken, corn bread, and a strawberry lemonade. The pork chops were perfect and tender. They were the star of the show. The mac and cheese full of flavor, and the dirty rice was excellent as well. We waited about 45 min to get in as the line was down the sidewalk. We got there around 11:30. They had already sold out of potato salad. We finally got our food around 12:30. My friend had fried fried shrimp and collard greens. She did not enjoy her meal as much as I did and wished she would have gotten what I had.

A must visit! The staff was just as amazing as the food. The food came out fast, hot and full of flavor. One Sunday a month they have a special menu and thankfully for me today was the day. I had the catfish jourdain and boy was it good! This will be my spot every time im in new orleans. Some of the best food I had on my visit.

I order the two piece fried chicken, Mac n cheese, yams, gumbo, and a strawberry lemonade.

Fried chicken was salty, lightly fried a little soggy/wet no real flavor.

Gumbo was salty had a weird flavor to me.

Mac n cheese was also salty.

Yams were by far the best thing and they tasted like canned yams. You needed it to combat all the salt they put on everything else.

Strawberry lemonade was bitter didn’t quite taste like lemonade or strawberry.

I’ve always wanted to try this place and I’ve heard them speak highly of it and the line is usually long. I’m glad I didn’t have to wait long to be disappointed.

I also tried the potato salad and it was awful to say the least. My mom ordered a bell pepper and the outside was hard like a ninja turtle shell. Arkesha came by attitude in tow and my mom told her about the bell pepper and her excuse was that it probably was the last one and she refunded it, but again not without attitude.

The only good thing I can honestly say is that when you’re walking in they do greet you.

Well it was a experience and one I never need again.

This is an amazing authentic Cajun/Creole restaurant that we found down the street from our AirBNB. The lunch line was out the door, but the side window sells food as well and we were able to get our food quickly. I highly recommend this place and will definitely eat here again on future stays.

Mac and cheese, dirty rice and jaces crab cakes were amazing. The gumbo was really good too. Their fried chicken was average at best, it wasn’t crispy and wasn’t that flavorful. Greens weren’t good either they tasted like the ones you get out of the can or maybe they just over cooked them. The greens needed more seasoning.
