Excellent service and amazing meal! We had the Corn Fritters, Mofongo de Pollo and Pastelon Vegatales. We highly recommend stopping by and trying their amazing food.
Our server, Melissa R helped explain the menu and what gluten free options they can make. She took great care of us. We will definitely return soon.

This restaurant was a pleasant surprise. We wanted Puerto Rican food, and thank god we drove all the way to this place. Martha was our server, and she was very nice and welcoming, but the food… THE FOOD. THEE FOOOOD. We tried not to repeat restaurants, but this is one that we will come back to again. The mofongo and arroz con gandules

I have been craving authentic PR food and this place did not disappoint. Perfection. Marta (I believe is her name) was truly amazing, and patient with me while I practice my Spanish. I can’t wait to come back again

Ooh la la! Marvelous! Was craving some Puerto Rican food being so close to the island when on our trip to Fort Lauderdale. Google Maps stood up to the challenge and offered this as the recommendation. Multiple thousand reviews can’t be wrong, so we decided to step in. Amazing experience!

Soursap (Guanabana) and guava juices got us into the island mood. Empanadas and cod fritters were tasty and super hot. Then the main course came in. The fried chicken was decent, the skirt steak with Puerto Rican rice was amazing, and for me personally the mofongo with shrimp was out of this world. Absolutely delicious – thee flavor, the texture, the perfectly cooked shrimp, the gorgeous serving style.

Highly recommended!

Absolutely Incredible Puerto Rican Flavor!
El Bayú de Wela Sara is hands down one of the best Puerto Rican restaurants I’ve ever visited! The moment you walk in, you can smell the delicious aromas of home-cooked sazón and sofrito in the air. Every dish tastes like it came straight from abuela’s kitchen — full of love, flavor, and tradition.
The mofongo was perfectly seasoned and crispy on the outside, soft and garlicky inside. The pernil was juicy and tender, and the arroz con gandules was just perfection. Even the tostones were fresh and golden — no detail overlooked!
The atmosphere is warm, colorful, and welcoming, and the staff make you feel like family. You can tell they really care about their food and their guests.
If you’re craving authentic Puerto Rican food that hits the soul, El Bayú de Wela Sara is the place to go. Highly recommend — I’m already planning my next visit! ✨

I ordered asopao de pollo. You can tell they ran out of chicken in the soup so they sautéed chicken breast and threw it in the soup! It was disgusting!!! The soup tasted like frying pan!!! Next time If you dont have the item ordered just say it!!! At $15 a bowl, It was definitely not worth it. Pollo tropical $5 soup has better chicken in it. I want my money back!!

First off there’s not many Puerto Rican restaurants in Broward so El Bayu de Wela Sara is a gem!
Our waitress Martha was great! I’m glad she recommended the PinaCoquito drink! It’s the best!
They bring the flavors, culture, music, & food of PR.
As a Puerto Rican I can tell you the food is made with season, spice, & flavor! The beef empanadas some of the best I had! 5/5 ⭐️
Pinacolda/Coquito 5/5 ⭐️ rice & beans 5/5 ⭐️
The restaurant is in a nice location, clean & beautiful art work with spanish music playing.
We’ll definitely be back to try more of the menu!

Samary was an absolute standout during my visit. From the moment she greeted our table, she brought a level of warmth, attentiveness, and genuine care that made the entire experience feel special like I was in PR. She checked in at the perfect moments, and carried herself with a calm confidence that made everything run smoothly.

Her recommendations were spot-on and she made us feel truly welcomed. It’s rare to find someone who balances professionalism with such an authentic, friendly presence.

She turned a simple meal into a memorable experience, even gave us a shot of coquito to complement the dinner during this Christmas season. I’d happily return just to be in her section again. She’s a gem!
