Central Coast Brewing, and independent and family owned small-batch brewery serving the Central Coast for almost 25 years. Central Coast Brewing opened in 1998 on Monterey Street in beautiful, San Luis Obispo. We added a new, larger location in 2018 on Higuera Street. Each location has it’s own unique charm. The Higuera location is open 7-days a week, with a full food menu and lots of indoor and outdoor space. The original brewhouse and taproom on Monterey Street, is smaller, intimate site with limited food options but located around a number of awesome local restaurants. Both locations are child and dog friendly (dogs are only allowed on the patios). Free parking at both locations. Large groups should call ahead for availability.

I discovered the chai beer this time. It was surprisingly great tasting beer. If you like the chai spice flavor you will probably love it.
The special pastrami pizza was another delicious surprise.
Food was good. Beer was good.
Service was excellent. The attractive young folk working the bar and restaurant were great with customer service. Very sweet and patient and charismatic. Answered all my questions and gave good recommendations.
The steak nachos were great and the pretzel was good. The beer cheese sauce it comes with is the star though.
Half the reason I was excited to come here is for the peanut butter beer that looks like a jar of skippy. That’s a winner for sure but I was also happy to find out that I loved the Teriffico. That one is very light and refreshing.
My only complaint is that a 4 pack of beer is like $20. I mean it’s high quality beer and I know I know inflation… But $20 for 4 beers hurts my brain and I’m not one to usually cringe at prices.
Luckily, I stopped by in my way home and was able to pick up a four pack of their 25th anniversary Triple IPA to go. Couldn’t enjoy their fantastic food or a brew due to time constraints, but there will be another time. If you’re into swag, they’ve a huge selection!
