I came in to play pool since the reviews on the tables were so great. But the bartender looked me in the face with disgust as I walked in and didn’t say anything word until I got half way across the room and then blurted out “hey” couldn’t tell if she was talking you me or not. There were only 5 people sitting at the bar, as it was midday when I arrived. So I kept walking towards the tables thinking they were the coin slot tables. She then yelled “can I help you?” Very aggressively. So I walked back to the bar to ask about the pool arrangements and she proceeded to ignore me while she got 2 other people refills while I was standing there, not saying anything word to me, after she yelled at me across the bar. So I said “sure, I wanted to know about the pool tables.” She responded, “let me finish helping them first.” It’s not hard to multi task! And customer service comes with the job. But RACISM Is WILD in 2025. There was a 90 something yr old caucasian lady sitting at the bar that stared at me until I left. She also felt the need to say “Yes you have to pay for them” as if I asked her anything at all.
I WILL NOT BE BACK! GOOD POOL TABLES OR NOT! DISRESPECT IS NOT TOLERATED. So, I walked out! Smh. Every one at the bar was of Caucasian descent, by the way.
I saw the posted pictures online and didn’t think I’d get that reaction walking in as an African American woman. I’m appalled!!!! I thought Macon was becoming a progressive city! I haven’t been back here in 15 years!!! And that’s really really sad!!

This place has slot machines yet when you win they can’t offer you anything of value. No scratch offs no cash no food. Literally gave us a used pool stick and claimed it was worth $180. Don’t come here if you intend on playing games or doing good business. Wouldn’t even give us a gift card for later use since we were 30 mins from closing. Waste of time and money.

Walked in here at 10:00 p.m. kitchen completely closed! BOO! No music BOO! It’s 12:24 a.m Google maps says it’s still open and the kitchen is open but it is not! This used to be a popping place but now all they’re worried about is the pool tables

If you love billiards, you will LOVE The Dawg House. The food is awesome and the bartenders are knowledgeable. Tina, Dennis, or Monica will keep you well-lubricated and smiling.
Now, let’s talk pool. 10 Diamond pool tables are kept in pristine condition. Randy believes in quality. He demands it of his staff, as he demands it of himself. And he gets it. Their quality shows in every aspect of The Dawg House Bar&Grill. From the moment you walk in the door, you get the relaxed laid-back feeling that only your favorite bar can give you.
Billiard cues and repair are also offered by The Dawg House. Ask at the bar about tip repair or cue purchasing. If you need a carbon shaft or an eye-catching high-end cue stick, Randy and Company can provide it.
I love playing the game of pool. The only issue I have ever had with my love for billiards is that the environments you have to haunt to get a match are almost always less than idyllic. Billiards/Pool is a bar room sport. This means you generally have a lot of competitive spirits mixed with a lot of alcoholic spirits. This is a recipe for high drama or flat-out violence. But here, at The Dawg House Bar and Grill, you will be able to enjoy your favorite pastime in a completely drama-free environment. Or at the very least the drama is on the pool table between the competitors, never in the bar between a bunch of drunks. Been playing here for more than a year now and haven’t seen one fight or even a shouting match. Just good clean competition.
Randy and Kathy both love the sport and it shows in the upkeep of the tables and the ambiance of the bar itself.
P.S. There’s a fella named Tony that you may or may not have the privilege of meeting or speaking with. He’s the cook. But to call him a cook is an understatement in my opinion. The man is a chef. Eat the food. And by all means, order the tacos! You WILL NOT be disappointed!! At times he is way more Gordon Ramsay than he is Rachel Ray, but always his creations are impeccable!!

Bartender’s are really friendly! Place is of good size.. plenty of table’s to shoot some pool, The felt on all the tables are well kept and clean… It’s well lit over the tables. Super cold beer, limited food menu but enough you could easily find something you like. Prices on drinks and food are on point. People that come in seem to be really nice and quick to chat ya up sitting at the bar. Ladies room was clean, jukebox has a good selection to choose from. I can see why this place is a locals favorite. Definitely a hometown feel within the city outskirts. Can’t go wrong anytime of the day coming in here, Monica the bartender took great care of me and had the sweetest personality and smile!

When it was bought out about 8 maybe 9 years ago the place was a wreck. Now the new owners Randy and Kathy Ratterrie put a lot of blood sweat and tears into it and now it is Macon’s best poolroom. Tournaments on Thursday night, Friday night keriokee, Saturday night live band. The rest of the week is devoted towards cards and APA League pool. NO SMOKING INSIDE THE POOLROOM!! They built an area out back with a few tables and umbrellas and you can take your drinks outside with you. Nice people good atmosphere, GREAT FOOD AND DRINKS.
