Das Schnitzel Haus is a quality German restaurant situated conveniently in the diverse city of Parma, Ohio. We pride ourselves on fresh food made from scratch. From the delicious baked bread, to the savory gravies, everything is made in Haus. The husband and wife team immigrated from Germany in 1999. One a butcher the other a chef, the restaurant business came natural.

An unpretentious place for German cuisine, also featuring a covered & heated patio.

We showed up on a Friday about an hour after they opened, and the place was already packed. It was so busy that we were moved to the overflow room on the left, and within about 20 minutes, that room was completely full as well. Not long after, there was a line forming outside. That alone speaks volumes about how good the food is.

Our server and the entire staff while clearly pushed to their limits, were super friendly, polite, and helpful. They didn’t miss a beat. Service did take a bit longer than expected, but given the sheer number of people in the restaurant, it was completely understandable.

The food was fantastic. I ordered the chicken schnitzel with potato pancakes and a salad, and it was absolutely perfect. I opted for a side of mushroom gravy as I like it on my potato pancakes. I also tried the pierogi, normally a Polish dish, but the photos had me curious. They did not disappoint. They’re a little different from the traditional Polish pierogi I’m used to, but the filling was excellent and the outside had a slight crunch. Honestly, they were better than many other pierogi options in the area.

This is a fantastic restaurant, well worth both the money and the experience. I would definitely go back.

I had the chicken and dumpling soup, and the dumplings were very tiny which I think we’re actually spaetzle. The soup itself was very good and I also had the chicken cordon bleu and it was fresh, hot was delicious. I’m glad I asked for the cheese sauce on the side I didn’t care for that as much, but you might like it. My daughter had the sauerbraten and although the meat was tender and lean, it was a bit too tangy for her. Our server was wonderful and she kindly offered to get her a different meal, which she did. And we were very satisfied. The service was very good our server was very attentive and polite.

All week I was craving good comfort food made from the soul. This was it. Also, my first time ever having schnitzel anything and I was so impressed. I will be coming back next month when I’m back in town to try something new. The cucumber salad was divine – a definite must try.

Food…superb! Atmosphere…quiet & warming. Service…just right. Their sauerkraut balls are the best I have ever had including the ones I made homemade. Potato cakes are devine. Everything is absolutely amazing. Only thing I would have to say negatively about this place is they should offer a larger variety of beers as my gut doesn’t seem to like certain beers. Come here every time we are in the area.

The food always tastes super fresh and home-made! Love the beer selection. They have the best service and staff out of all the Parma spots.

The food was incredibly fresh and delicious. We started with the sauerkraut balls which were crispy and delicious with a fantastic aioli on top. I had the stuffed veal with mashed potatoes and sauerkraut and my husband had the sampler plate. Everything was amazing and our server Jenna was awesome! Can’t wait to go back and try more.

Went today with my husband and brother a little after they opened. Food was lukewarm at best. Soup ( clam chowder) was cool.( had them rewarm it) . Honestly didn’t taste like clam chowder. Hubby so hungry he ate it. Potato pancakes also not hot and not the homemade taste I expected. Veal and spatzel were good.( thay asked if we wanted gravy on the side..we said sure.It was a small bowl of cold gravy that they ended up charging us $2 for…crazy! ( obviously didnt use) Bread was just ok. Waitress was very good. Business was slow at the time. My brother left early not feeling well so I cannot vouch for his meal. Not at all what I expected given the reviews. Disappointed!

The place seemed chaotic when me, and my wife arrived. We sat for quit a while waiting for a server to acknowledge us. Finally the bartender took our order, and stated he would. Bring back bread. As we sat for another twenty minutes, we noticed people sitting down and immediately getting their bread. Finally after 30 minutes a server yells to another server we never got our bread. We finish our bread. Then we wait, and wait, and wait. Finally some manager woman asks if anybody ever took our order. We stated yes my wife ordered perogis, I got the bratwurst sandwich, and that we ordered two to go orders for afterward. The lady disappears. We then look over, and see her with another server dismantling a to go bag. We realize it’s our to go bag. They put all of our food in it. The manager then dishes our food out of the Styrofoam containers onto plates. They bring them over to us. I now have a cold bratwurst, and a cold plate of fries in front of me. After several minutes I realize there is no ketchup at table. Had to wait unto another server came by. The food was disgusting by then. We both tried to eat it, but couldn’t. We then waited for another passing server to get the check. I wanted to leave 0 tip, but my wife made me leave a couple dollars. This place was beyond disappointing, I will never go back.
