I’ve been ordering from there for the past 6 months. I love that there is a meal delivery service that is healthy and uses clean ingredients (do not use seed oils) and ingredients that I can pronounce! The oils they use are extra virgin olive oil, avocado oil (pressed) and coconut oil. Also, lots of paleo, keto, protein-friendly options. The food is great too!

Delicious, fresh food with professional service! My husband and I were searching for a source of healthy meals. We love cooking our own food, but we have very long commutes and don’t have as much time as we’d like to prepare meals. Out of the Cave has been absolutely wonderful and just the perfect solution. Great experience with out of the cave. Food arrived fresh and well packaged. Food itself was very good and thoughtfully prepared. My favorite dish so far was the salmon salad and I’m not even a big fan of salads. Description of each meal is included on the container as well as possible allergens. I highly recommend.

Here’s a 5-star review, but take it as a grain of salt. I know most of this world is full of liars these days; politicians, corporations, individual people; 90% of you are terrible. Regardless, IF the information on the Nutrition label is accurate, then this place is great for stocking up on prepped food. I just don’t believe it. I usually eat once a day because I don’t mind that feeling of starvation. My sister brought me some tri-tip dish the other day, with some veggies and cauliflower rice at 480 calories; yet I calculated the information and it equated to less; I also do not believe the dish is JUST 480 calories. That was like half a steak and a full bed of “rice,” with some veggies. I ate it at 4pm, and I felt completely full until the next day at 4pm. Right now I’m eating chicken fried rice, labeled at 330 calories, and it seems too good to be true

I have been ordering Out of the Cave the past few weeks and let me tell you I am no stranger to meal prep services. I have done everything under the sun from premade meals to make your own kits (Blue Apron, Sun Basket, etc) and this BY FAR is my favorite meal prep service I have ever ordered.
Let me start with the food… ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC. Everything is cooked perfectly, there are more protein options than any other service (pork, salmon, mahi, ground turkey, steak, shrimp and the occasional ground beef). I have never gotten to choose from so many! Also, there is about twenty different sides such as white and sweet potatoes, asparagus (pretty much all veggies) as well as cauliflower rice, brown and regular rice. Makes it very easy to tailor your meals to exactly what you want. Secondly, the portions are huge! I usually can break up one meal for lunch and dinner. The price is very affordable (about $14-15 dollars a meal) considering most places average around $18 and you have to order a minimum.) To be honest, I am not sure if Out of the Cave has a minimum to deliver to San Francisco but regardless it is a very competitive price. Also if you want to pick up the food you have the option to do that.
Secondly.. their website. I am not a tech person and this website is very easy to navigate. Unlike any other meal prep place I have ordered from you also have the option to “instant message” on it and get a response directly from the owner. His customer service is absolutely fantastic.
Lastly, for the owner himself. He is incredibly generous, helpful and involved in the community. He sends out emails to let you know the specials for the week (oh yeah did I mention how fantastic that is?!- you cant get sick of the food!) and has made such an impact especially during these hard times. He is more than generous by offering free deliver to SF if you spend over $100 and really adds a personal touch by bringing it directly to your doorstep. Something I never even would have thought about from a meal prep service. He also has been offering toilet paper and paper towels which seem to be worth more than gold at this point. It is these kind little gestures that really go a long way. Lastly, he has been willing to pick up medical supplies from anyone that is willing to donate and as a health care provider myself, I find this to be a very honorable and kind gesture.
I could not rave more about the delicious large portions as well as the importance behind the moral and ethics behind this business. Truly one of a kind. Thank you for feeding me healthy meals and allowing me to spend my time doing what I want on the weekends and not having to cook:)

I have been a customer for a while now. When Cam took over the business he reached out to get familiar with me and ever since then he has always checked in to make sure I was satisfied. If anything goes wrong he makes sure it is fixed right away. As far as the food, I have always been a fan and continue to love the variety and special dishes they have.

Delicious and healthy meals with portions large enough for me (6’5”) when I’m trying to make clean gains. Much better quality food than any of the national services (I’ve tried them all, i swear). Love the biodegradable packaging; much less waste than other services. Easy for me to take to work and warm up.
