My boyfriend and I have been here 2-3 times. The first couple of times were decent. Nothing to write home about, but definitely not like this time. Absolutely disgusting is the only word I can describe one of the pizzas and the cheese bread. First thing, they were either cooked on a pan with rancid grease or something of that nature, because the smell and taste of them was STRONG of rancid oil. Second, is pretty obvious considering I didn’t ask for EXTRA olives. I love black olives, but dang there were so many on there I couldn’t taste anything else. I don’t know… not happy with old grease and throwing a TON of ingredients on there without care. Probably won’t be back.
ETA: we live over 25 mins away so getting a replacement isn’t an option.

I was very disappointed in the consistency of this place. I had a really good pizza a few months ago and the most recent one which was ordered exactly the same.. not good at all. They don’t even look alike. I won’t be going back anymore. First picture is the first one I ordered and the second is the next time. They don’t even look alike.

Being fairly new to the area this was our first experience with Hometown Pizza. After reading some of the reviews we weren’t quite sure what to expect.
We called in our order and a very pleasant young lady answered the phone on the second ring.
She was very patient with our bad phone connection and took extra care to assure that she got our order right. We ordered a large, extra pepperoni, thin crust, light sauce and a small chicken, bacon ranch, thin crust.
We live about six miles out of town and by the time my husband arrived our pizzas were done. Total price was $23.05.
Both pizzas were exactly as ordered, piping hot and delicious. Compared to the pizzas we’ve gotten from other places nearby, this was absolutely the best we’ve found so far.
Good food and Great service! Give them a try.
One suggestion for the folks at Hometown Pizza, please post a proper menu online. The photos of the menu boards in the store are illegible.

Pizza was great, really good quality with very generous toppings, and extremely reasonably priced.
Salad bar was not great, just the veggies they use for pizza toppings. So good quality for what’s there, but very limited for the price: $5 for a small salad and $7 for large with basically lettuce, onions, spinach, shredded cheese, and bell peppers as options.
Will definitely be back to try a potato or sub!

I have to be gluten-free (not a choice ☹️) and I was very happy to have another option besides Dominos.
I actually had the cauliflower crust, two days in a row! It’s that good. Even my dad who at first thought that sounded gross is now a convert. Cauliflower crust all the way!
They make a really decent pizza, I felt there were quite a lot of the toppings on there, I usually feel gypped on toppings. Also, they give free garlic sauce, which is kind of dangerous but yummy.
They also have other foods and desserts here. We will definitely be getting pizzas from here again!

If I could give a lower score, I would! Pizza’s not made well, service from a smart mouth teen female who won’t ID herself when asked her name and owner’s name after being very condescending. You won’t be greeted when walking in as the employees sit with their back to the entrance eating wings and huff because they have to get up and work and don’t wash hands before entering food prep areas. Owner has no business being a licensed business and should seek better employees for her attempts to stay in business!

My wife loves the gluten free pizzas here. If we happen to be going through Bolivar on our way home, she likes to stop and het one. The pizza we got yesterday was great. The only reason I didn’t give “5” was because of some things I noticed as we waited for the pizza. First, there were no paper towels of any kind in the men’s room. Had they been busy, I could understand the employees not noticing or checking, but they were literally waiting for customers. Second, while the restroom and dining areas were pretty clean, there were two neglected areas. Both are under wooden racks by the front windows. They wouldn’t be noticed by someone running in for a quick pickup, but for someone eating in or waiting they look pretty bad. It wouldn’t take too much to move them and clean in and behind them.

I ordered pizza and salad bar. The lettuce was browning asked if I could get better lettuce. She cut new lettuce but seemed i was an inconvenience.

I have never been more disgusted by the lack of kind customer service of a restaurant. The employee when we walked in at 8:30 said “mmm we aren’t taking any orders anymore”. They clearly were not busy, but we were understanding. Although, they had no reason to be as rude as they were. We said okay and went outside and sat in our car ordering from a different restaurant but the employees inside, not just one but all THREE were giving nasty looks, death glaring, and pointing at us in our car after we had walked out of the restaurant. They also locked the doors at 8:48, otherwise I would’ve walked inside and said some choice words due to how obnoxious these young girls were being. Incredibly disappointed and will DEFINITELY NOT be returning.
