Their hot spicy salsa is very hot , fresh, and well-seasoned ❤️ Beef Quesadillas is okay 3.5/5, just not matches my taste. The shrimp dish is huge and fresh 3.75/5. This franchise is not as good as the one in Lakewood in our opinions. Still give 5/5 for supporting, just the quesadillas not match my taste

As a group of tired and hungry people, this place made our day. Fast service, great ambiance and awesomely tasty food. When you go there, ask for Javier. He was such a delightful server, made sure all of our orders were made to perfection and constantly checked on us for refills, extra chips or even sides. Everyone was super happy with how he treated the group and did not take so much time in taking care of our order. We would absolutely go back there and dine in again. A just visit for all Mexican cuisine lovers and food enthusiasts.

I love Mexican food!!! I hope I said that correctly and didn’t offend anyone, but seriously I dont believe I’ve met a bad Mexican restaurant yet! I got the “special” burrito (can’t remember the name) Seasoned perfectly, so filling, I could only eat half warmed it up later on that evening for a late night snack and it was still delicious! The mango margarita was perfectly balanced. Next time I will try their house blend shots that sit at the end of the bar. It’s just way to tempting not to try. I will be back!

This place is crazy delicious. Very fresh ingredients, obvious house-made food. I mean for the price point, I was incredibly impressed. The whole place was packed but there was no wait whatsoever & the staff was moving n grooving to keep steady flow. I have been coming to the Cozumel in Independence for years and it’s always an amazing experience. To start, each guest gets their own salsa bowl for dipping chips. The service is always friendly, quick, and kind. They go above and beyond with customer service. The food is always impeccable. The alcohol beverages are quality and strong. Great for family gatherings or dates. Food comes unbelievably fast. I would recommend Cozumel’s to anyone looking for quality Mexican food.

I had an extremely unpleasant and unacceptable experience at Cozumel Independence.
I am a strict vegetarian for religious reasons — I do not eat meat or eggs. I ordered a Veggie Fajita and shockingly found a piece of chicken in my food. That alone is a serious lapse. Because of my beliefs, I could not continue eating from that plate and requested a replacement.
What followed was far worse.
Instead of handling the situation professionally, a staff member took the plate back to the kitchen and started loudly shouting phrases like “NO CHICKEN,” “Do you understand NO CHICKEN?” and “I DON’T EAT CHICKEN.” This was shouted repeatedly near the kitchen door where we could clearly hear it, and then again from the billing counter — not to communicate with the kitchen, but loudly enough for us to hear. It felt mocking, disrespectful, and humiliating.
Customer preferences — especially those tied to religious beliefs — are not a joke. This behavior was insulting and completely unacceptable. I left feeling embarrassed and regretted choosing this restaurant for lunch.
What makes this even more disturbing is that I observed the same waiter speaking politely and respectfully to other customers who were not of my race. That raises serious concerns about discriminatory behavior, whether intentional or not.
You have now lost a loyal customer. My family and I were genuine fans of your food, but no food is worth being disrespected or insulted.

Great food and service. We had lunch and ordered a variety from the menu, including one special. Everything was excellent. Reasonable prices. Would definitely go again!

They accommodated a huge family bday party for my niece. She turned 15. While we were there the restaurant celebrated 4 other birthdays as well. Waiter was outstanding. Food was fast and good and hot! Family friendly! Kids menu was perfect.

My daughter been wanting Mexican food so we went here. As soon as we walked in they greeted and sat us right away. Our waiter was awesome, he got our drinks and he kept them filled. My first time ever being here I needed more time than the rest. All our food came out fres and fast. Every thing was right. The atmosphere was calming, food was great, service was awesome. Will definitely be back and try a new dish.

I really don’t have much to say about this place. My food was hot, and the taste was okay. My wife liked her food. I had a burrito with the rice and beans in it which I’m not used to. I wouldn’t order it again. I’m used to having the rice and beans on the side.
