Really enjoyed my visit. I waited in line and when they opened an employee came out and explained that they were limiting people to four of each item so that more people would have a chance to get something. He also advised that there were some pastries still in the oven and wouldn’t be ready for a bit. The line moved quickly and I soon had my pastries! I got a black sesame cookie, chocolate croissant, butter croissant, bread pudding, a vegan blueberry muffin. My favorite was the bread pudding but I also liked the chocolate croissant and the black sesame cookie. I look forward to going back and trying more items

There has been much anticipation for this place to open. Since they opened, people have been waiting in line for 20, 30+ minutes and then they are sold out of a number of delicious options.
I highly recommend the croissants , the mini quiche’s, and pastries. Everything is exquisite! It’s worth the wait.

We waited in a long line on the second day they opened, got a box of assorted pastries & quiches. Some were ok, some were delicious. The mini quiches are especially good. Went back today and tried some different items and we were very impressed. The little bread puddings are fantastic. Glad to have this place so close to home.

So happy to find out one of my favorite bakeries in SF opened in East Bay!

The Ube Mochicro is a must try and so are all the other pastries

The Ham & Cheese Croissant was warm, crispy, flaky, and very buttery.
The Black Sesame Mochi has a nice chew and I can definitely taste the black sesame flavor.

For months, we in the neighborhood eagerly anticipated the opening of the French Spot. One day, not long ago, my friends and I, having coffee at Peets nearby, noticed a long line that stretched all the way to Trader Joes. The first time that I went into the bakery, it was to meet with our City Councilman and try a delicious pastry. Next, my 12 year old grandson (a chef in the making) was blown away by a raspberry croissant twist. However, every time that we tried to order it again, it was not available. He was unhappy to learn that the item was no longer on the menu. When I explained the situaton to the very accommodating staff person at the counter, he talked to the owner and relayed a message that if I sent him a request, he’d make a special treat for my grandson. True to his word, yesterday, Vincent (chef and co-owner) made a special croissant for Levon (my grandson). The pastry was beyond delicious. Not only that but Vincent took the time to chat with my grandson who had wanted to thank him. Great people, great neighbors, great food. Note from my wife: she hopes that people won’t get discouraged by the lines. Be advised that: 1. They are very efficient; the line moves quickly. 2. It’s well worth the wait.

Customer service is very poor . Workers attending to customers jump around taking orders instead of addressing each person in line , leading to people behind getting items before you resulting in “sold out “ response . Management needs to address this .

After trying chocolate babka , all I can say is it tastes good but is nothing “special “ or “extraordinary “. I usually buy chocolate babka from Trader Joe’s and it’s super moist with way more chocolate and half the price for a full loaf to enjoy throughout the week .

Went at 8:30am when it opened and our items were clearly not fresh. Was expecting freshness if we were the first ones there. Pastries were overcooked and hardened like they were from yesterday. They also only had 1/3 of the pastry case offered, the rest was going to be ready in an hour and a half. Why be the first one there at 8:30 in the long line if nothing is available? Please have the items ready when you open.

went yesterday after a work and it was so good! Staff was super nice and despite having a bit of a line, moved everyone through pretty quickly. The matcha cookie was to die for and the Korean garlic bun hit the spot. would definitely go back!

Very tasty pastries.
Need to be one of the first in the morning or get lucky with timing your visit with a recent bake, or the selection can be limited.
That’s how good it is!
