You can definitely tell this place has been taken over by the Pappas restaurant group. The food is amazing. Definitely the best fajitas in all of Corpus Christi. Had the fish tacos for the first time today and they knocked it out of the park. Service was fast and efficient and our server was very friendly.

Hubby and I wanted to grab some food and drinks after work yesterday, and we were glad we did. We had the most pleasant server, her name was Cat and she was absolutely wonderful. We didn’t have to ask for refills or anything since she was consistently on top of things. She was fast, friendly, and made our dining experience great. The food and drinks were amazing too! 10/10 can’t wait to go back!

On the Border has always been our go to place when wanting Mexican food. My husband and I were so disappointed with the food this time. Let’s start off with the chips and salsa..The chips were good as usual, but the salsa was terrible.. They have changed the salsa to some kind of fire roasted recipe that had no spice at all and is very greasy tasting. Our enchiladas were okay, but the tacos we had were saturated with grease. The shells were soggy from the amount of grease in the meat. I don’t know that we will ever go back. Disappointing, to say the least.

Restaurant was mostly empty on the Friday night before Valentine’s Day at around 6:30pm which was odd I felt for a major chain, and didn’t really fill up as the night went on. We got seated immediately, only to be unseated because the table was still a mess from the previous customer. Once cleaned we were reseated and our server approached. I’m going to give her the benefit of the doubt because she said she was still learning (albeit she was in her late 50’s early 60’s), but she only had us and at the time 1 other (a third table seated a little later), but we had to waive her down to order our food because she was warming up tortillas. I don’t know who the apparent celebrity was at the booth behind us, but all 3 managers (men) and our waitress gave them almost undivided attention while we had to flag down or give unsatisfied body ques (facial expressions and looking around) to get any service. Once we did order she took our appetizer at the same time as our main course and our actual meal arrived 5 minutes before the appetizer. When the appetizer did finally arrive she knocked over a cup (thankfully ice only) while trying to set it down and some of the soda ice went into my wife’s salad. Training note perhaps take that when you do drinks or ask as you’re dropping off drinks. Food was good portioned EXCEPT the salsa. They served almost a bag of chips and a small dish of salsa. So small that after just 5 chips each for me and my wife (10 total for those counting) we were out of salsa yet barely dented the chip pile. Then one of the managers had to find her to send out a soda refill. All in all decent, but certainly not exceptional.

Got the carnitas fajitas and they were very moist and tender and flavorful. It came with tons of food as well. Rice beans, chips, salsa, and a large portion of meat. Our server was Cat and she was amazing. Very attentive and helpful. Will definitely be coming back.

I hope they change this place for the better. The Manager Michelle Sunday OMG! Rude when some ask a simple question she got offensive and the company I was with notice her rolling her eyes. For being a manager that’s a negative vibe. They waitress we had is ok but she was training but I was giving the new girl some pointers because her trainer wasn’t . Remember for a place to run good you have to have good Mangers that support , help and sacrifice for their employees. Not one time did the manger come around to see if things were good. I guess I hit a nerve. Portion is good , chips are better but the salsa needs improvement. I hope when I come back in two weeks it’s better. Hopefully not the same Manager. Need friendly managers that know how to communicate with guest and walk around more and able to handle good or bad criticism and know how to respond professionally. All wait staff ,servers and hostess long hair all out. Either hair net or braided and not loose as they walk by swinging it.

Fantastic Mexican food great taste great service love this place wish San Antonio had not got rid of theirs we used to have one there but no longer so we had to come down to Corpus to get some great food thanks On the Border Our server Mari was fantastic! We were well taken care of for sure! Loved it!

1/14/26 New menu coming Monday, they let you sample some of it. Food was good, service was good, very happy with the choice to come here. They have gluten free and vegetarian options which I like. Our server Cat was the best love her. Would definitely come back
