All I can say amazing experience. From the host to the bartender/server everything was so pleasant and warm and welcoming! And as with the service the cocktails and then the food was exceptional. Best lamb I have ever had. And the unexpected side of corn bread was heavenly. We also had the burger which was cooked perfectly. Wish we had room left for dessert. If you are in the area this place is worth the visit!

Appalachian Restaurant delivered a wonderful dining experience. The food was delicious, and the service was excellent! Savannah was attentive, friendly, and made us feel well taken care of throughout the evening. What set the experience apart was the head chef personally coming to our table to explain each dish (all locally grown), which added such a thoughtful and personal touch. To top it off, my friend was surprised with a dessert of her choice for her birthday, which made the night even more special. Everyone at the table thoroughly enjoyed their food. We will definitely be back!

Came for our anniversary. The staff at the Appalachian turned our dinner out into an entire experience. They sat us right by the kitchen where we got to witness all the action in the kitchen. We enjoyed everything they put in front of us. The chicken skins we had as an appetizer were delicious and a huge portion. The goat cheese, squash, and candied pecan salad was delicious. For our main, we had perfectly seasoned and perfectly cooked steak paired with the mashed potatoes, carrots, and cornbread. If we lived closer we would visit The Appalachian often! Between the atmosphere and delicious food- I would highly recommend a visit to The Appalachian.

We ate at this restaurant for my birthday. A reservation was suggested and was made. We were asked if it was a special occasion and they were told yes, a birthday.
When we arrived, we were immediately seated. The restaurant is very large with different rooms for seating and a very beautiful bar. Even the entrance waiting area is very nice.
Upon being seated, I was handed a menu. On the front of it was printed, Happy Birthday. I was told I could keep the menu. That was such a nice touch!
We started with some delicious specialty cocktails and salads. The champagne pear salad was fantastic, as was the blueberry salad.
We both had the entree of the grilled trout with sweet potatos. It tasted heavenly. For dessert, we had the goat cheese cheesecake.I was so full, I couldn’t eat it. I asked it to be packed up to take home.
When I did try it the next day. I was pleasantly pleased with the wonderful flavor.
Our waitress, Kate, did an excellent job. She was educated, professional and very cordial.
We will definitely be returning to this restaurant and bringing people with us to experience the ambiance, the service, and the delicious food.

Best steak dinner I’ve had in a long time! We stumbled upon this little gem while vacationing with friends in Pigeon Forge. Our waiter Sam was great! He was attentive, friendly and walked us through the menu before we ordered! I had the Hanger Steak $52, and honestly it melts in your mouth! It was delicious!! My hubby had the burger $24, plus our friends had the lamb chops and a steak. We sat outside on the patio and had it all to ourselves! The patio could use some love for sure. Overall an amazing experience. Chef Derek even made the rounds to check in with our table. A very nice touch indeed! Dinner was $150 for 2 with tip.

We celebrated our son’s birthday here last night and the experience was exceptional. From the lamb chops to the hanger steak and the shrimp and grits, everything was delicious! We had a group of thirteen and our server was extremely attentive, helpful and we felt like the only ones in the restaurant. (We weren’t. It was busy as usual) I highly recommend you go for a special occasion or just dinner out one night and experience the wonderful atmosphere, great food and great service at The Appalachian! We have been many times and we plan to go many more!

First things first: Tyler was a phenomenal server. He paced our meal perfectly and provided incredible recommendations. Almost everything we had was at his behest. We asked him questions with obscure answers, and nothing stumped him! He’s obviously very well-trained and overall a very charming server. My family and I had the buffalo frog legs and the smoked bone marrow as starters. Tyler brought us warm towels to clean our hands with after the frog legs. Both dishes were rich in flavor. The bone marrow was the perfect texture, and the frog legs were the most tender I’ve ever had. We had a perfectly balanced cocktail that I remember the name of, but it was like a French 75 with lavender. The picture is attached.

For our entrees, we had the hanger steak (holy tenderness, it was good) with the best gnocchi I’ve ever had and the lamb with cheese grits and a blackberry reduction, which was a lovely combination. Our entrees came with some real, southern cornbread, too! For dessert, we grabbed some goat cheese cheesecake to go, because we were so full. At places like this, you often leave hungry, but all of the portions were large, with generous amounts of meat. The cheesecake was amazing, but somehow sweeter than I expected. The berry sauce was sharp and delicious.

I would recommend this place to anyone. Every dish is thoughtfully created and plated. The menus are printed out every day based on seasonal availability, so you get to take your menu with you as a keepsake if you’d like to. The first page is a huge list of all of their local partners that they source their ingredients from. There was a huge list of spirits, too. I loved the open kitchen design with the huge, roaring fire for everyone to see. Watching the chefs work like a well-oiled machine was a distinct privilege. If you have some extra cash or something to celebrate, come here! And heed your server’s recommendations: they really know what they’re talking about.

Amazing food! Delicious wood-fired grill smell as you walk in. The shrimp and grits was a mouthwatering dish with the right level of spiciness, and the filet steak was one of the best we’ve had (which is saying a lot!). Their atmosphere is peaceful and upscale. Really glad we found this place!

I stopped in as a quick refuge “mommy only” moment away from the Wilderness at the Smokies & the kiddos. I made my reservation online for 8:45 p.m. (the latest slot), not realizing the place closed at 9 p.m. Nevertheless, I was warmly welcomed & assured my reservation would be honored. My server provided excellent suggestions since it was my first time. My mocktail was something with lemon . It was so refreshing & not overly sweet, as requested. I tried the chicken skins as my appetizer. It was phenomenal! Crispy w/ notes of salty sweetness due to the glaze. I ordered the trout w/ mashed potatoes & broccolini w/ the bone marrow add on. It came w/ homemade cornbread in its own skillet. Everything was great, but the trout was THE BEST I have ever had in my life! It was well seasoned w/ the skin on (how I love it), cooked over the flame w/ fresh corn, spinach, pecans, & chopped apples. The favor profiles here are mind blowing! The service was great, & the owner & chef stopped by to explain each dish & to ensure my experience was special, even dining alone. I highly recommend the place & I will be back!

My husband and I had the most incredible experience for our 10-year anniversary at the Chef’s Table. Derek, the head chef, was a rockstar and so great at explaining all the food, flavor and pairings. Our waitress Amber was very sweet and attentive. The food, attention to detail, and the atmosphere were perfect. We both agree it was our best dining experience to date. Will return!
