It’s a quiant and cute place. I ate on the patio, it had a nice view of the lake. The food came out in about 15 minutes. I had the Mackinac burger which was good- menu has good options. Lots of fresh whitefish options, if that is your forte.
The service was… okay. Nothing to write home about. Not friendly but not mean. Just seemed like our waitress didn’t want to be working, which is fair lol.
There is a ice cream shop next door and a light house and boardwalk to go on. Very cute and fun. Recommend to anyone wanting lunch or dinner.
They even have a cute gift shop with knick knacks and other treats if that’s what your into!

Saturday night in busy season. Expect a wait. Be patient with your server. It is all well worth it. Had the mile high meatloaf on a 90 degree day and that is some incredible comfort food. My son had the shrimp platter and loved it. Kids menu is a bit small. This restaurant does things the old way with no call ahead or reservations. Nothing wrong with that. Would highly recommend!

Nice little grill we stopped at for lunch before heading to the Wawatam Lighthouse. I tried the Mackinac burger with fries. It was a large burger well cooked and very satisfying. The Mrs chose the Italian Grinder and slaw it was a very good sandwich. All in all it was a great lunch spot and just a short walk to the lighthouse.

I had the poor man’s whitefish and a side salad. The meal was very delicious, and i would definitely order it again.
There was a bit of a wait, but that’s expected for a big event weekend, and being that the food is so good. A nice was to pass time while waiting for a table is the small shop with various items for purchase.

We spent a week in michigan’s UP. We had several different restaurants and stayed in several different motels. At Mackinac Grill and patio bar my wife and I both ordered different shrimp, entrées. The shrimp was prepared perfectly and well seasoned. The only reason I would probably not go back and eat there is strictly logistical reasons. If you’re in the area, you would not be disappointed. The menu had many options to chose from. They also have a nice little gift shop.

We walked in and got seated right away. We got the Mile High meatloaf and it was excellent so good. We also got a French dip and onion rings. The French dip wasn’t that good a little overcooked but the onion rings were awesome . We will definitely stop there again.

We had a large party and they did a great job of keeping up with drinks and getting orders out in a timely fashion. The service was excellent. We had a variety of opinions on the food. The New York strip was not that great and the cheeseburgers were OK. The new brisket sandwich on their menu was really really good. The Michigan salad was good but it was full of a bunch of lettuce cores. We would still come here again if we were in the area and try some of the other food.

We both ordered whitefish entrees. Both good. Service lacked a bit. Our waitress was quiet and not engaging. Atmosphere was ok. Table was sticky. The place/people lacked passion for the business. Gift store was cute, lots of sales too.

A great family restaurant! The interrior almost makes you feel like you’re at sea! The lighthouse is a beautiful bonus. We had a party of 6, and everyone loved their food! There is also an adorable ice cream caboose in the parking lot!

At the beginning of May, it’s difficult to find a decent, open restaurant in St. Ignace. After not being particularly impressed with the restaurant north of town, we tried the Mackinac Grille the next day. Conclusion: It’s worlds better. You feel like a welcome guest, not just a paying extra that you’re just trying to get rid of as quickly as possible. The food is prepared with heart and soul.
