Today I had an absolutely wonderful dining experience at this Indian restaurant. The food was not just delicious — it was truly exceptional. I was genuinely surprised by the depth of flavors and the quality of each dish.

Out of all the Indian restaurants I have visited, this one impressed me the most in terms of taste and overall culinary balance. Every bite felt thoughtful, authentic, and expertly prepared.

What makes this experience even more remarkable is knowing that the owner is also the chef. It clearly shows — the passion, skill, and personal involvement are reflected in the food itself. This restaurant offers real flavor discoveries, not just a meal.

Highly recommended for anyone who truly appreciates outstanding Indian cuisine.

Everything was wonderful.

The only thing that keeps it from 5 stars is the pricing. If they shaved off a few dollars then it would be alright. Also when ordering delivery the portion sizes are not as big

The place is pricy, so be aware when dining.

Highly recommend the Chicken Tikka and Butter Chicken with Garlic Naan. The accompanying rice is very fluffy and fragrant.

Ordered Butter chicken and Paneer. The food was delicious, service was top notch. Atmosphere was lively, classic Indian Bollywood music was setting the vibe. A must visit in the area.

The food was out of this world good. The naan (garlic cilantro & garlic chive) was a religious experience. The main dishes (salmon korma / butter chicken) were also amazing. Atmosphere was chill (the aroma of the restaurant after entering was sublime) . Drinks took a while to get to the table but that was the only miss of the evening. It is easily the best choice for a date night in bratt. 9/10 will be back for sure.

Masala House is marred by consistently having small issues while being one of the most expensive restaurants in town. I swore off getting takeout from them a few years ago when the paneer dishes would consistently have 6 small pieces. When you eat in, sometimes the food is excellent, sometimes its just ok depending on the day. Spice levels are often missed. Sometimes sides or appetizers are forgotten. They are also frequently out of dishes, typically goat but often lamb or even the chicken. It sucks because the food can be truly excellent but at roughly 30 a plate leaving disappointed 50% of the time isn’t worth it.

Food: we had amazing butter chicken, lamb saag, naan, and ras malai. Everything was fresh, beautifully plated, plenty large portions, and flavorful. We met the chef who said he tries to source as much as possible local. They even have spices you can buy to take home that are ridiculously pungent and delicious!

Service: even without the great food, I would give this place five stars for service. They were technically closed when me and my friend (visibly pregnant) showed up. They opened a table despite being closed and then were SO HOSPITABLE. Our waiter Sonny was friendly and told us stories about his family (he was working home from college). Food came out fast and chef came to meet us!

Atmosphere: beautiful inside, calm, nice attention to details and lovely decor. All around great experience

EDIT: after reading others’ reviews I want to add a comment about price. We ordered: chai, vegetable pakora, butter chicken, lamb saag, naan, ras malai, AND two full take-home containers of fresh spices and it was less then $100. We have gotten two additional meals from it. We know that we have some skewed price perceptions (from living in assorted places including NY and CA) but it was very reasonable for the quality and size and service.

The food is okay, but the prices are just too expensive. The service was lacking… I know they’re now in a new location and getting used to things, but c’mon.

Not to mention the building was just freezing. It was not comfortable to sit in there at all.

The restaurant has no liquor license yet so we didn’t order drinks and yet the bill was still $90! For 2 basic Indian meals, naan (which wasn’t flavorful at all) , and samosas.

Discovered this little gem of an Indian restaurant on a rainy Thursday evening in Brattleboro. Staff were incredibly kind and helpful, food was delicious and absolutely hit the spot! Even had the opportunity to meet the chef/owner Madan, who is a wonderful man and community-minded business person. Look forward to going again the next time we are in town!

We were traveling up to northern VT and found this little gem when we got hungry and searched for a place on bringfido. They have a really nice little patio area that’s dog friendly. They were very nice and bought water for our dogs.

The drinks and food were delicious. We got the naan, an eggplant dish, and chicken tikka masala. It is slightly on the pricier side but the taste wnd especially the service was worth it. Everyone was so kind and friendly. If we ever are in Brattleboro again, we would definitely stop buying.
