Reviews
Of the special rolls, the Volcano Roll was my favorite, even though it wasn’t very spicy. Then again, I eat chunks of wasabi whole, so maybe my half-brother is right and I’m too dead inside to judge something as spicy.
Of the hand rolls, the Cream Cheese Roll was my favorite. I’d like to say it was something complex, but no, it was that. Simple good.
The entrees are from the other list, so there’s not much else to say other than don’t attempt to eat Sushi & Sashimi for Two by yourself. It is definitely for two, no matter what you think your appetite is.
Two warnings:
If you get the Spider Roll, don’t get a second warm roll with it! The lettuce will wilt and it won’t taste as good. Even ask for it without lettuce if you must, since they are willing to customize.
They have this sushi pizza thing that’s not on written on the menu, similar to what Kobe Sushi up in Madison has, and it is significantly worse. Do not get it. There is nothing on the menu that I can say “don’t get it” for other than this.
Note: It’s strange what hand rolls are maki (seaweed on the outside) and what rolls are uramaki (rice on the outside). The salmon roll (a good one, runner up to the cream cheese roll) is maki, but the spicy salmon roll is uramaki. There’s no apparent rhyme nor reason. For this reason, I tried asking for a custom roll of my favorite components: cream cheese, tuna, avocado, “and make it maki instead of uramaki.” They were willing to make it! Avocado got misheard as salmon, but it was still delicious. The service is polite at Peking Restaurant.
