Place was crowded but we were sat immediately. A very Jersey diner feel here. The menu is enormous, so bring your reading glasses. Service was attentive given the size and number of customers. The food was good. I ordered the Barnyard Chicken. The eggs were done well and the chicken was tasty. I wasn’t a big fan of the cheese sauce. It had a “cheese wiz” consistency but tasted OK. Others ordered the Southern Sampler, Scrapple skillet and the Philly Steak and Egg sandwich. Everyone was happy with their dishes. The servings were large, so you’ll be bringing home leftovers. I see complaints about the price but honestly, I think everything was priced well. There was a online coupon that saved some $, so look into that if you go. In all, not a bad breakfast spot. We’d like to go back and try the waffles and pancakes, they looked amazing.
Starting with the good: The menu is huge. Something for everyone. I was surprised and extremely happy to even see lunch options, but no — today, I was there for breakfast food.
The place itself is gorgeous. What they did with the diner I frequented my entire childhood is nothing short of amazing. The big, beautiful strawberry cow? The rotary phone booth? Jersey pride shines everywhere.
The first thing I noticed on the menu was that the drink selection surpassed my expectations. Mixed juices, amazing lattes. Very impressive combinations that did not disappoint.
Everyone we interacted with was very friendly. Our server was fantastic. He made an honest mistake when my husband ordered the “country sampler” and was served another dish with “country” in the title. We only mentioned it in case someone else was looking for that dish, but he made it right at no charge. Super apologetic for something that wasn’t a big deal. When my husband did get his country fried chicken, he raved about it. My son loved his ham and cheese omellete. I ordered the Taco Loco. It was good, but I wasn’t a fan of the presumably jarred salsa on top. I had to scrape all the goodies on top off to avoid it. The quality of everything else was so high, and the flavors would be enhanced with a fresh pico. I wouldn’t order this particular omelette again, but luckily there is SO much more to choose from.
I thought the menu said omelettes were served with toast, but we didn’t get any. I didn’t love the home fries and found them mushy, but I’m more of a hash brown girl myself. They offer tons of substitutions, which is pretty sweet. I’ll try them deep fried next time and I bet they’ll be great.
Finally, for a breakfast place, customers need more than one napkin. Sticky juices, sticky syrup, sticky fruit… more napkins on the table would come in clutch.
Regardless, I can’t wait to return.
Updated to say every return visit has been a 5 star experience!
So been wanting to try this place since I’ve heard about it and I wasn’t disappointed. Food was very good. I got French Toast plate (Banana Carmel Crunch) and Two eggs and homefrie platter with added bacon. Everything was cooked great. ( Only side comment would be more of the sauce that comes with the french toast on it )
My friends kid got a burger with fries. He said it was good. Had some leftovers for later.
Staff is super friendly and attentive. Very clean looking. Will definitely have to go back and try some more of their options.
Food was excellent though.
I’ll take the local diner with better prices and excellent service over this Amy’s location any day.
Food: TONS of options to choose from, prices were average, staff was punctual and aware of when we needed him.
My husband got the waffles, eggs, and sausage meal with a side of home fries and I got one of their specials that day, apple walnut pancakes. Food was made quickly and we found out they were HUGE plates of food! Be prepared to eat, or take home left overs. My meal was ok. I wasn’t as thrilled with it as I hoped -the apples on top weren’t cooked and it was more like someone chopped up an apple and threw it on top. The amount of walnuts were insane. The pancakes themselves were amazing though!
My husbands meal was pretty good & the home fries were amazing! He was pleased. Drinks: OJ & peppermint hot coco. The hot coco is a MUST, please just believe me!! OJ was fresh squeezed but a little tart for me.
Safe to say, we had leftovers to take home! Although I wasn’t as big of a fan of my meal, the other food I ate and the drink made up for. We will be going back for sure!
*They also offer the option to order and pick up, which comes with a discount for picking up your food.
