Surprisingly some of the most delicious Chinese food I’ve had in a long time but expensive. A large selection of menu items but I only ordered four. Wonton soup was definitely the best I ever had hands down. The small order of Chicken fried rice was solid and served as a giant portion (4ppl). I would pass on the egg rolls they were super greasy and not much flavor. 3 Pork dumplings were amazing too. The service was also surprisingly good considering only three people were serving probably 15 to 20 different tables. Overall a great experience but very expensive. For the four items and one beer spent just over 30,000 Colones.

Yummy! If you’re in downtown San José this place is a must go for tasty Asian/Chinese food. The place is simple, nothing fancy BUT the food is royalty: great dim sum, fresh and their regular menu also fantastic, savory and affordable. Their Sea Salt Shrimps with vegetables, together with a hot pot of Jasmin tea, oustanding!

I went here on a whim and never expected to find such great Chinese food in Costa Rica. Even though I have access to excellent Chinese food in the US, I still stop by here most trips to CR. If you’re here for a few days, stick to the local food. If you’re here for a longer. And want to mix it up, come try this out, you will be pleasantly surprised. Even compared to Asian food in California, this could hold its own, and the ingredients are great.

Great spot to get your local Chinese food fix. I’v been there several times during my stay in SJ. The menu is big and all the dim sum I tried was very good. Service was fast and efficient even though the place was busy. I ordered sweet-sour chicken, beef meatballs, steamed pork buns and a Tsingtao beer – everything hit the spot. Definitely worth giving this place a try.

Honestly the food was bad. I did not expect to have the highest quality Chinese food in Costa Rica, but a 4.5 star review seemed high enough. I was sorely mistaken! The flavors were off and some of the vegetables looked like they were going bad. Could not finish the dishes.

This restaurant has gotten many 1- and 5-star reviews, so I didn’t know what to expect. I will alternate between good and bad things so you will know. My wife and I have lived here seven months and its the best Chinese restaurant we’ve found in San Jose. (Not counting P.F. Chang’s, which is much more expensive). Saying Wong’s is the best in San Jose isn’t saying much, though: in the U.S., Wong’s would be a mediocre Chinese restaurant. The dining area and restrooms were clean. The restaurant is badly in need of remodeling. It’s been in business for almost twenty years, which is a good sign. My wife was served almost immediately, while I had to wait twenty minutes for my entree. The food was of typical quality, making it a step up from the other Chinese restaurants we’ve tried (excluding P.F. Chang’s). They didn’t include any of the extras we expect, such as white rice, Chinese noodles and fortune cookies. The prices are reasonable. Bottom line: if you’re jonesing for Chinese food, this is the place. Otherwise, eat at a Costa Rican restaurant.

I have to admit that I personally didn’t like the ambiance much. The place was dirty and with a lot of spider webs. A homeless guy was trying to steal the leftovers of the customers before a waiter came to clean it.
The decorations were very simple, nothing very elaborate. (But to be fair, it was not bad, I just feel they could do more).
The service was a bit long, but not excessively. The waiters were professionals and spoke English.
The food quality was very good, the portions were big.
At first sight, this restaurant seems a bit expensive for a restaurant in San Jose, however the quality and quantity of the food explains the price, 5/5 for the cuisine.
I give only 3 stars because the ambiance in the restaurant was really sad, U was expecting more, this place has the potential to be way better !

We wanted to try Chinese food in Costa Rica and see how it was. They served Dim Sum and Chinese cuisine. I had to try it. It wasn’t bad we order the Singapore Style Chow Mein, Seafood Soup, Beef and Vegetables, Salt and Pepper Pork, Dim Sum Bolo Boa, and Chicken Feet. Highly disappointed they didn’t have Char Siu
Seafood Soup: 3.5/5 it was good but not mind blowing
Singapore Style Chow Mein: 4/5 this was delicious star of the show the Shrimp and pork made it work.
Beef and Vegetables: 4/5 it was delicious the mushrooms and baby corn and the vegetables superb
Salt and Pepper Pork 3.5/5 it was ok I liked it it wasn’t super salty need more pepper
Bolo Boa: 4/5 it was good
Chicken feet: 2/5 it was edible wasn’t the best chicken feet
Overall a 4
