If you haven’t been to Palmera yet, you’re seriously missing out! This place has become our go-to spot for authentic Mexican food that actually tastes like it came from someone’s abuela’s kitchen.
First off, the portions are generous – come hungry because you’re definitely getting your money’s worth. Everything tastes incredibly fresh, and you can tell they’re not cutting corners with their ingredients. The Carne Asada is honestly some of the best I’ve had in the Seattle area – perfectly seasoned, tender, and just bursting with flavor. And don’t even think about skipping dessert because their Flan is absolute perfection – silky smooth and not too sweet.
The cocktails? They’re in a league of their own. We’ve tried Mexican restaurants all over, and Palmera’s drinks are creative and strong (in the best way). They’re clearly putting thought into their bar program, which really sets them apart.
The staff works their tails off to make sure you’re taken care of, and they do it with genuine warmth. Service is quick and efficient without feeling rushed. And speaking of atmosphere – the dining room is super cozy year-round, but right now it’s absolutely magical with Christmas lights covering every surface. It’s festive without being over-the-top, making it perfect for a casual dinner or even a little holiday celebration with friends.
Seriously, grab your crew and check it out. You won’t regret it!

Had an absolutely amazing time at La Palmera restaurant after coming back from Kingston. I ordered the veggie tacos, and the others with me ordered chicken enchiladas and veggie enchiladas. These were the best veggie tacos I’ve ever had. The corn tortillas were excellent.
As soon as I saw that this place only has 4.3 stars, I had to add this review! I highly recommend it here.

Ordered a pork carnitas for $28. Big portion size, came out quick, seasoned decently. Unfortunately the pork was somewhat dry. Pork carnitas can be difficult to keep moist, but for $28 I had hoped for the best. But the pork itself was average. Could be seasoned more, could be more moist.
Waitress was fast and kind. Best kind of service.

My company Pacific Pro Group moved into the area recently and now this is our favorite lunch spot. The tacos, especially the shrimp tacos are delicious. La Palmera Family Mexican Restaurant is a family-run gem dishing out authentic, heirloom recipes. The interior bursts with colorful Mexican murals and soft mariachi melodies, creating a cozy, expansive space ideal for groups or intimate dinners. Start with the complimentary chips and house salsa—fresh, zesty, and addictive with its tomato-cilantro kick.

We saw their grand opening picture on FB and decided to give it a try.
La Palmera was so so so good! They were busy but sat us within 2mins.
Their menus is extensive but not annoyingly so. We made it during HH which their menu was super great with that.
The food was so damn good! Flavorful and good portions. We wanted everything on the menu.
The service was also great and no complaint at all.
We will definitely be back to try more items.

We had a blast at La Palmera! Our group of seven loved our server Brenda! She was super friendly and handled everything so efficiently. She even split our checks individually without any hassle. The food was amazing, especially the suizas, and the margaritas were awesome.

We loved the friendly experience at La Palmera from the moment we walked in to a decorated Day of the Dead ambiance! Our waiter Miguel was very accomodating. We started with the guacamole dip, which was tasty and a unique presentation. The salsa was flavorful, and they brought us a spicy one as well when we asked. They have a several beers on tap, and a decent margarita. I ordered enchiladas Poblanas and substituted cheese for the chicken, because typically we don’t order anything shredded or ground for meats. We also had the Molcajete, which is like fajitas but with a sauce inside a stone mortar. The sauce was nice and vinegar-forward, and we added tortillas. The meat was well seasoned and delicious. Very generous portions. It was my birthday, and I got a shot of tequila and a Happy Birthday song! We have seen some reviews that claim that the food is lacking in flavor, but we disagree; it’s pretty authentic (my husband is Mexican) and there were many latinos eating at tables around ours, so I suspect maybe those reviews were not from connoisseurs of Mexican cuisine, or else the Tuesday chef is the best one!

The food taste like Margarita’s (if you are from the Northeast you know). Happy hour was a decent deal but the full price did not seem worth it. Christmas decorations were cute. One person in our party got sick the next day.

A great atmosphere (esp. for Christmas/holiday season!) and friendly service by our waitress. Food was enjoyable!
Unfortunately, an advertised promotion on their website was misleading. Wednesday’s are advertised as “kids eat free”. Upon notifying our waitress about this after we received our bill with the kids meal on it, she did check, and we were told that this was not honored at the Edmonds location.
(Nothing on the website communicated this specifically and this info was on a landing page that mentioned all locations, see screenshots)
$9 for our child’s meal isn’t a big deal and we paid it, but the marketing was misleading.
