If I could, I would give it zero stars. One of the bartenders (wish I knew his name) is very rude. You could stand there for 10 minutes if your face is not familiar you’re going to keep standing there. I’ve lived here a little over a year. I’ve only gone there a handful of times and every time not a good experience. This last time we went we brought our friends and I can honestly say it will definitely be the last. One customer literally got served twice and we were still overlooked/ ignored. I’ve worked in the restaurant bar industry and I understand it can get busy and you have to wait a bit but being rude to customers is unacceptable. A few weeks back my nephew went there, ordered a drink and didn’t realize it was a cash bar. The bartender, which I wish I knew his name dumped the drink in the sink and said cash only and walked away. He could’ve told him that the ATM was when you first walked in. When he got home and told me the story I wasn’t shocked. I like to give places a few tries because everyone can have a bad day and that is why it has taken me a few bad experiences before writing this review. Your customers pay your bills… be nice!

Definitely agree with other reviews about bad attitude bartenders. We were there on a weeknight and it was not all that busy, but the bartenders are the type that just never look around to see if people are waiting. We could have gone to another bar, had a drink and came back in the time it took these guys to serve us! I would definitely pass on this place as there are many other bar choices in the area with good service. They call this place “the Hud” but it should be called “the Dud.”

Local dive in a tourist destination that is not what I’d call a fan of the tourists. And I suspect they charge whatever strikes their fancy at that moment. Still, a cool spot with darts, pool, pinball, etc.

This place is a gem!!!! A dive bar that’s not grimey. Casey at the bar, Mike at the bar….they take care of you!!! Games galore. Get here early and have free run at the games…get here late and wait for the games but enjoy the family of husdon!!!! This place is amazing, I look forward to it. Hudson house is 10 star!!!!!!

Definitely a dive bar place was packed vibe was nice music was good and the punching bag was a fun nice touch.
The shot glasses are on the smaller side and weren’t the best tasting but otherwise would come again

the hudson house is the happiest place on earth. after all my years coming here, i have never had anything less than a great experience. all of the bartenders are amazing, so personable, kind and friendly. robby fab and casey are the best!!!!!!!! if you don’t come here you’ve never experienced LBI!

The Hud is the best bar. To date, it is the only bar I will even consider frequenting. On or off the island it’s the best bar around. The atmosphere is fun and the staff is so friendly and accommodating. You can’t help but feel welcome the moment you walk through the door. From the shuffleboard table to all the things hanging from the walls there is so much to look at and enjoy. It has the vibe that many others try hard to imitate but seldom do they succeed. It’s the dive bar that isn’t trying hard to be cool. It just freaking is. Live a little…..try it out and see for yourself…
