My daughters and I had a wonderful experience last night. We were celebrating my daughter’s 16th birthday as she wanted to eat in Georgetown. From the moment we sat down until the moment we left, we were treated very well. Our waiter was friendly and attentive. We ordered crab cakes for our meals which were scrumptious. They even surprised my daughter with a complimentary dessert and candle. Kids can be picky regarding food but they loved Sequoia which says a lot. The views, the food, and the great customer service exceeded my expectations. We will definitely visit again.

I recently visited Sequoia to try their happy menu and it was phenomenal from the service, interior dining space, and menu offerings. Everything I sampled from happy hour – elote, lobster roll, ceviche, chicken tacos, mini tarts, truffles – was very well portioned with amazing flavor. The service is impeccable with the team making sure drinks are promptly refilled, tables are cleared and making sure the dining experience is exceptional. I spent most of the evening on their outdoor patio with views of the Georgetown waterfront.

I went with my family for the Saturday brunch. We went because they served a buffet menu with bottomless mimosas. Alas, this is no longer true. They do serve bottomless mimosas though which were very good.
We ordered appetizers and entrees. The food was pretty decent. A little on the pricey side (roughly $400 for five people) We enjoyed the outdoor seating with views of the Potomac.
Our servers were very attentive and consistently filled our water and drinks. Empty dishes were taken away promptly.
It was a nice experience. Doubt I would return.

We visited Sequoia the weekend after New Year’s Day for brunch. The food was very delicious, with all items being fresh and there being a large variety of items. Although it wasn’t super busy, none of the food tasted as though it was sitting. Our wait staff was extremely attentive, even providing us with warm towels and lemon to sanitize our hands, which I have only seen done in other countries, so I appreciated that. The atmosphere was calm and relaxing; we were seated by the window, which was nice. I had a unique situation which required manager attention, and the staff at Sequoia treated me with care and kindness. I really enjoy going to Sequoia and I look forward to my next visit.

We have been trying to come here for a while and finally got to visit today for the Sunday brunch. Our first impression was how kind the hostess and waitresses/waiters were. Most notable being kind to my son. As a parent this always means so much because many adults tend to not engage with children. When it was time to get our food, we were very impressed with the selection. There is truly something for every person’s taste and of course, plenty of kid friendly options. Seeing it all in person definitely surpassed what I expected when reading the menu online. Some notable items: Atlantic salmon with white wine sauce, freshest ahi tuna sushi, dumplings, crab legs, and crème brûlée. We tried so many different things and really everything we tried was delicious. We were approached many different times by staff and our of waitress ready to assist and help. Look forward to visiting again in the future!

My team held a client holiday party here this past December and we were so impressed by the care of our team. From the beginning, our representative, Michele, was incredibly helpful and responsive, offering advice and genuinely listening to what we wanted. The food is amazing and the atmosphere was perfect, with the team even helping setup and take down of our personal decorations. Definitely pricey, but you know that you receive great food and amazing service without worry.

We sat and ordered drinks. Because we were the only ones in the restaurant it was easy to overhear and see the bartender as she made our drinks. Upon making them she remarked about an ingredient bottle “this smells weird” and proceeded to smell the container. Then, as her manager was standing there, the bartender asked her manager to confirm to which the manager smelled the jar and proceeded to close the container back and keep it at the bar. Yikes!
Once our server came over to give us the drinks (as she was in the back at the time), we asked about the comment and said we are uncomfortable with consuming the drinks with what we just overheard.
The server went to speak with the manager about this after taking our drinks back. The manager proceeded to do nothing and continued chatting with what appeared to be two other managers present. Only when this manager saw that we were putting on our coats to leave, did she feel obliged to come over to us and ask to offer us a free appetizer.
No thanks to free food. Don’t be indifferent about the health and safety of your customers. Don’t be indifferent about customer service and do something only when you see people walking out. Won’t be returning. Fiola Mare is open, nearby and much better.

I can’t wait to visit again! I want to start off by saying George made my visit worthwhile. I made a reservation for my birthday and was treated as such. I’ve been thinking about this restaurant since I left. George kept my table (of 10 people) entertained, satisfied and educated us on every dish. 10/10, my Sequoia experience was memorable. One of my best restaurant experiences.

Great spot overall. The food was really solid and well presented, and everything we ordered tasted fresh and thoughtfully prepared. Service was friendly, attentive, and never rushed, which made the whole experience easy and relaxed. And the view alone is worth it, especially at night, definitely a place we’d come back to.
