Okay, I’m ready to finally admit it: this is the best ribs place in Iowa, St. Louis style, and fantastic. The mild sauce is my favorite.
Great ribs and brisket. Mac and cheese and beans are amazing. Soda cans available, among other options. The sauce options at the table provide for a multitude of flavor options, but they’re not bad by any means, and surely it gives me opportunity to enjoy the meat flavor here all the more. Been here plenty of times, and the high quality doesn’t deviate.

Excellent stop for lunch recommended by friends in town. Don’t sleep on the Mac-n-cheer and ranch sides for whatever you eat. All sauces good but think the Sow Money was my favorite. Wings were not my favorite, but still glad I tried them.

Great customer service. I like a little more smoke flavor on my BBQ. Not bad, though. Reminds me of Smokey D’s BBQ in Des Moines. Stop in if you’re out west.

I don’t want to give an amazing review because I don’t want them to sell out. I loved everything we bought me and my partner enjoyed so much. The macaroni and cheese and the burnt ends was the highlight of the meal but honestly, everything was great!!! The burnt ends were so delicious. I got back in line after the first bite to buy more!!!

As BBQ fans, we always seek out new spots when visiting an area. We found Kue’d because of being featured on BBQ Pitmasters. Some of the best BBQ meats in recent memory for us! We had the BBQ Sampler with ribs, pulled pork and smoked sliced turkey. (Husband was very disappointed that brisket and burnt ends were already sold out – our bad for coming too late!) Ribs were fall off the bone tender, and the rest was juicy, tender and full of flavor! Seasoning was fairly pepper-forward so it came with a little zing. Sampler came with choice of three sides, we kept it traditional with cornbread muffins, beans and Cole slaw. All were standard, tasty but nothing groundbreaking.
We tried all the sauces before getting our food but honestly the meat didn’t need it.
Value for what we got was amazing! $35 + tip for a ton of food and two sodas!
Service was good – standard counter ordering, and they bring your food to your table and check on you once or twice.
Atmosphere was definitely set up for a heavy takeout crowd…small place with simple tables – with half the space used for storing extra supplies and boxes. A little weird but it got the job done.
Wish we lived closer – this would be a regular spot for us – probably for takeout.

WOW!! This BBQ joint is The BOMB!! Especially for my palate. Took a 2hr ride/drive looking for some good eats and scenery. Looking through Google, I came across Big Al’s BBQ. I was looking at the reviews for Big Al’s and there were a lotta bad reviews. While reading the bad reviews, someone mentioned Kue’d Smokehouse. So I made a decision to check them out. I have to say I was very impressed!! The staff was great. Especially the Host Travis. He was great to talk with about the history of this BBQ joint. The food was delicious!! I had a slab of ribs with the TIP still attached and Beef burnt ends with some sides. I did take home a pound of Smoked chicken wings for the Super Bowl tomorrow. All I can say is I will be paying you guys a visit again! And soon. Keep up the good work and Food.
