Really enjoyed this spot! The sushi was super fresh overall, and the oshi scallop made with locally sourced scallops was the highlight and so good. The staff were friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. Definitely a place I would come back to.

I’ve been disappointed in general by sushi in Nova Scotia since moving here, so was overjoyed by our meal at Sushi by the Cove which is so close to home! Beautifully plated, generous rolls. Fish quality was excellent. Hoping there will be more types of fish available in the future. Loved the unique smoky flavour of the scallop oshi sushi. Will definitely be back!

Easily some of the best sushi we’ve ever had. We got a half size spicy tuna sashimi, spicy scallop oshi roll, avocado yam roll, and chicken katsu curry to share between two people. Portions were huge and brought out fast and fresh. Service was great and food was absolutely delicious!

Ordered takeout salmon sashimi here for dinner and was pleasantly surprised by the quality and quantity of fish. The agedashi tofu was above average but not outstanding. I will say the menu is small and a little unusual in that they only offer tuna and salmon sashimi whereas they have a few other fish options only for the maki/rolls. I’d be more interested and a better customer if they offered a broader selection but if you want sushi or sashimi at all around Lunenburg, this is the only option, and it’s very conveniently located in Lunenburg’s main attraction, Old Town.

My wife and I were excited to try the new sushi restaurant in Lunenburg and it didn’t disappoint. We tried quite a few of the rolls and every one was excellent. The spicy sauce lives up to it’s name. The chef has been hired from B.C. and the quality and care is impressive for a place open less than a week. We will definitely be back again soon.

Everything was amazing but definitely recommend the scallop Oshi, it was sooo delicious! Definitely the best sushi in the area I’ve had since moving here a couple of years ago. We called ahead for reservations so no wait but I’d recommend reservations so you aren’t disappointed. I’ve gotten take out too which was just as good! Definitely making this our regular sushi place!

We were impressed with the quality and how tasty everything was and it totally hit the spot! Owners were very friendly. For a new establishment in a small town, the taste and quality were that of (and better than) what we’ve had in big cities.

Overall the sushi was good. And our server was lovely. However, as I see in other reviews, the sushi I got (the crunch roll) was served in giant pieces, almost the size of mason jar lids is my best comparison. I ended up having to try and cut them in half with my chopsticks as they were literally too large to shove into my mouth (I tried) , and too much in them to have in two bites without falling apart (I tried) . I wish instead of 5 giant pieces, it would have been 8 smaller pieces with the contents just spread out more. That combined with the fact that there was about 10 minutes between my food coming out and my friend’s food being brought out. Was very odd and unfortunate waiting that long between our meals being served. The sushi was tasty, and their chicken teriyaki was yummy and good portion.

My husband and I are visiting from Toronto, Ontario, and were excited to explore all the seafood Lunenburg has to offer. While walking around, we stumbled upon this small sushi restaurant tucked away at the end of the street. After reading so many glowing reviews, we decided to give it a try—and we are SO glad we did.
The staff were warm, knowledgeable, and genuinely friendly. The portions were very generous, the fish was incredibly fresh, the plates were like artistry, and the prices were more than fair. We’ve dined at countless sushi restaurants—both high-end and casual—and this was hands down the best sushi either of us has ever had.
It’s a hidden gem that absolutely deserves to be discovered by all!.
We hope everyone takes the walk to the end of the street to try it—you won’t regret it. We will definitely be making a trip back this way again and will make it a point to come back.
