This is definitely one of my favorite spots for pizza. I’ve only ever ordered the great white so I can’t speak to all of the other pizzas I just know what I like and what I gravitate towards and for me and this pizza they nailed it. This pizza is also giant it’s a whole new reason to get a roof rack. Bonus if you love beer, you’re in luck they have a great selection! Service wise I believe I’ve had a great experience maybe the ordering person/front person not so much but definitely the people making the pizzas. But heck everyone has an off day so that’s what I chalk it up to.

This review is strictly based on their pizza by the slice. Had BOTH their pepperoni and simple cheese. Was “NOTHING SPECIAL.” Wasn’t terrible but not great either. Just plain, simple. Definitely wouldn’t stop here again for the pizza based on sauce, dough and cheese quality. I have had much better pizza in San Diego.

Great place to grab a quick dinner on the way to the bay side or the beach. My family and I regularly hit up high tide for their hot dogs and their old bay rubbed chicken wings.
The hot dog is gigantic, juicy and flavorful. It comes on a soft baguette style roll that is just the right amount of flaky on the outside. The hot dog and bun are so good tasting in their own you literally don’t need to add condiments.
The old bay wings are similarly fantastic. Juicy, crispy, with the perfect amount of salt and bay spice. We rarely ask for dipping sauce since it tastes so good.
No seating inside, but there are a few small tables, benches and belly up barrels out front if you want to eat there.

High Tide is usually my favorite pizza spot in Coronado, and I’ve always enjoyed their delicious pies. However, my visit last night was a bit of a letdown. Typically, their pizza looks so tempting that I can’t resist snagging a slice in the car on the way home, but this time, it just didn’t hit the mark. It seemed like my pizza was made with a little less care than usual, and I wish I had snapped a picture to share!
Considering it was a $30 pizza, I was expecting more, especially since they’ve always been fantastic up until now. I totally understand that everyone has off days, but it still stings a little.
It would be fun if restaurants could put the name of the chef on the order ticket, so we could ask for the person who made all those amazing pizzas in the past! I’d love to have the same talented cook making mine every time.
