Huge shout out to the server Geovani. It’s my second time having him as my server and he does a great, professional job at it. Even on a hectic busy Friday he was able to keep it together and provide exceptional service.
Food has always been good here, and drinks were okay. I like their $10 promotion, so worth it with the fries.

South Steele st location off 38th near Tacona Mall. Sat in the bar to watch college football, staff was energetic and engaging! Food came out quick and was delicious! I had the grilled chicken ceasar salad. Will be back soon to try the 9.99 Yummm burger with bottomless fries! Sign up for rewards and get a free appetizer with 10 dollar purchase. Stopped in here for dinner yesterday, our waitress Paris was very attentive and knowledgeable for gluten-free options. We came to Red Robin because of their celiac friendly menu.
Bottomless fries are awesome.
Burgers were cooked properly.

My wife and I are retired and had not been to a Red Robin in years. Fortunately, our experience here was excellent. Giovanni was our server and he was exceptional. He was super kind, personable and attentive. We both ordered burgers and they were just what we were hoping for after wandering the mall for a few hours. Yummm! Thanks to Giovanni, the kitchen and bussing staff and the management here at the Tacoma Red Robin, we left with big smiles on our faces.

We went during Lunch and sat up in the bar. It was surprisingly not busy which worked in my moms favor since she doesn’t have great hearing. The waitress was great as always and so was the food. I highly recommend the zucchini fries. It was my first time having them. They were so good. As we were leaving I noticed a poster of The Dude by the bathroom and that just made my day.

Our server Giovanni was a total pro. Very kind, cordial, and attentive.
It was a Monday night and felt dead, only a handful of tables with guests. An… interesting family near us made a huge mess and spilled their giant sugary drink everywhere on the carpet as Giovanni was greeting us and taking our drink orders, he handled that calmly and kindly and was back to us in no-time, while they kid seated behind me was testing out the bounce qualities of their balloon on the back of my head. Similar quality service the whole time, despite the atmosphere. Props on that front.
That’s about where my praise ends. The place felt a bit dingy/dirty. If you didn’t pick up on it already, the rest of the clientele felt a little… low brow. We both ordered a cocktail and they were pretty good but took pretty long to arrive for a slow Monday night. Apps were fine (onion rings, pretzel bites, jalapeno chips, and moz sticks) but nothing to write home about, typical generic fried fare. Burgers were honestly worse than I remember them being 10 years ago, patties had a distinct frozen vibe, about on par with what you would expect from above-average fast food but not sit-down.
I could excuse that but things felt a bit pricier than they should be, given the quality. Notably, the doordash bags were absolutely FLYING out of the kitchen. It seems their focus may have shifted from quality dine-in to mid takeout via food delivery apps?
I came for a cheap, nostalgic experience, and ultimately ended up remembering why I left Red Robin behind. C’est la vie.

Food was decent for a chain burger place. The mad love Burger was very good, the teriyaki chicken sandwich was good as well. “Bottomless” fries and broccoli were tasty, but the server never stopped by our table to see if we wanted more. Had to flag down people cleaning tables or passing through to get refills on drinks or sides. Kind of disappointed in the service.

The food here is always good but the servers like to make up their own rules. I’ve ate here over a dozen times and never had problems sitting myself at the bar and being served. Yesterday we came in sat ourselves at the bar like usual and a waiter immediately came over and rudely told us we had to check in with the host. We got our things and left.

I’ve been a loyal Red Robin customer for years, but my recent visit to Tacoma was a major letdown.
From the moment we walked in, the service was lackluster. We were greeted with a lukewarm welcome and had to initiate the seating process ourselves.
Once seated, our server was friendly but seemed overwhelmed, leading to slow service. The food, unfortunately, didn’t live up to expectations.
My hamburger was lackluster, and the fries were soggy and lukewarm. Even the iconic bottomless sides were a disappointment, as we never received any or were offered any.
While I’ve enjoyed previous experiences at other Red Robin locations, this one fell short in both service and food quality.
It’s unfortunate that such a beloved chain has a location that needs significant improvement.
