Food Quality: 4.2/5
The food is very good overall and consistently enjoyable. Portions are especially generous, which is always a plus and makes the meal feel satisfying and worthwhile.

Service: 4.1/5
The staff is friendly and efficient, but service is very hands-off. You’ll need to ask for everything—silverware, sauces, and condiments are not provided unless requested. Once you ask, they’re happy to help. I don’t quite know why, but I feel like they’re trying to save money by not giving you the basic utensils to eat takeout unless explicitly asked for.

Cleanliness: 4.3/5
The restaurant appeared clean and well maintained during my visit, with no issues noted.

Atmosphere: 4.0/5
Simple and functional. This is a place focused more on food and value than ambiance, which works well for what it is.

Value for Money: 4.5/5
Large portion sizes really stand out and make this a strong value. You definitely feel like you’re getting more for your money here.

I have been going to this restaurant since we moved to Gilbert and when we moved to casa grande we chose to drive in to town to come to this restaurant. BUT IT HAS CHANGED! First off the employees have changed! Sorry but the services wiped the tables as we were standing there no problem but the rag you used was disgusting. It was sour and you could smell it on the table. His service sucked. I asked him several times for hot mustard. We also asked him for the crunchies chips and not until after the fourth time asking did he get me the hot mustard never got the crunchies chips! He acted like he couldn’t handle the two tables he had. He also acted like he didn’t want to be there not the service were used to the food is definitely different. Don’t know if they sold the place or what I will not be back I’ll drive to 75th Ave. in Indian school to the original one before I go back to the Gilbert one I think the one in Cassa grande is better than this one now

Delivery was incomplete and incorrect. This was our first time ordering and it will be our last. We ordered steamed potstickers but received fried instead. The Chicken Chow Fun was supposed to include an egg roll, fried rice, soup, and crab puff, and none of those items were included. The orange chicken was soggy, and the only item that was good was the hot and sour soup. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I would not recommend this place and won’t be ordering again.

I’ll start by saying that we live relatively nearby to Hong Kong Kitchen, and have ordered from this location before. This review is a bit of a warning on the variable quality of takeout food from the restaurant.

Today is Wednesday and I ordered both orange chicken and wontons as we have done before, and as we are at home sitting at the kitchen table, we agreed that the texture, quality and freshness of the food is quite bad. Our perception is that our order was warmed up from either earlier in the day or even a previous day/days.

Maybe if this was a Friday the restaurant would be busier and the food would be fresh, but I’ve had three people try this in the last 10 minutes and all agree it is quite awful.

Simply my review on a Wednesday night at 6:54 in the evening. Thank you!

Small Mom and Pop restaurant. Almond chicken and sweet and sour pork were delicious. Egg drop soup was good. Friendly staff. Support Local business.

This is one of our favorite local mom and pop Chinese restaurants. It’s very Americanized with all the favorite things we all love like fried rice, lo mein, chow mein, orange chicken, kung pao chicken, sweet and sour pork, Mongolian beef, etc. I find myself going to specific Chinese places because I like specific dishes at each place. So why do I come to Hong Kong Kitchen? Three reasons:

General Tso’s Chicken
Garlic Beef
Sizzling Rice Chicken and Shrimp

The General Tso’s is crunchy and sweet. They double fry it for extra crunch then coat it in a sweet, glaze-like sauce. It used to be medium spicy, but now it’s usually mild. I need to ask them to add some kick next time I order it. The Garlic Beef is the best crispy beef dish (and maybe the only one) at HKK. It’s also a double fried, extra crispy dish with a sweet, glaze-like sauce that has a garlicky twang that is very good. With two sweet dishes I need some good veggies and a savory sauce to balance things out. That is why we go for the Sizzling Rice Chicken and Shrimp. It’s also a very light dish. Fresh veggies (zucchini, cabbage, carrots, snap peas, onion, mushrooms, and bamboo shoots) wok’d in a light, clear, savory gravy with soft cooked chicken and shrimp. It is served on a bed of sizzling rice which is like flash fried rice so it’s crispy and gives you a little crunch in every bite. We usually add beef egg fu young if the whole family is eating along with a pork fried rice and a lo mein noodle dish. All solid options at HKK. If we’re dining in we usually order a large bowl of egg drop soup which is a favorite of the boys. The HKK version is thickened with corn starch and has a stew consistency not a soupy one. This is not blow your mind Chinese, but they have some good dishes here that’ll give you your Chinese fix when you need it.

Some of my favorite items are:
Sizzling Rice Chicken and Shrimp ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
General Tso’s Chicken ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Garlic Beef ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Beef Egg Fu Young ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

My guide on how I use the 5 star system:
⭐️ = Not good
⭐️⭐️ = Not terrible, but would not get again
⭐️⭐️⭐️ = Solid, but I’d try something else before this again
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ = Really liked it! You should try this
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ = Loved it! Must try
I’ll make adjustments to my ratings after subsequent visits. If you see a .3 or .7 it means:
.3 = Wasn’t as good the 2nd or last time I tried it
.7 = This was better the 2nd or last time I tried it.

The food was some of the best I’ve had in Arizona. However, the place is filthy starting with the bathrooms and the front doors. It smells a little too. They would do well to have professional cleaners come in a couple times a year.

Great food! We have been looking for a Chinese food place since we moved here in 2019. We believe we have finally found our place. To start, when we arrived they were very busy with online orders and it was obvious there had been diners at almost every table prior to our arrival. A very nice man came up to us after finding out we wanted to dine in he informed us they are very busy with online orders and it could be a longer than normal wait. We were not in a hurry and said it was not a problem for us. They cleaned a table and sat us within 3 minutes. Before ten minutes passed we had our menu’s and within 15 we had made our orders. All of this would be considered normal wait times for service. Within a half an hour of arrival we were eating dinner and everything was very tasty and well prepared. We had crab puffs and sliced BBQ pork. The puffs could have more crab and the BBQ pork comes with an excellent sauce already on the pork. The hot mustard was fresh and sinus clearing! Some of the best BBQ pork I’ve ever had. Then came pork fried rice and Hunan chicken which the menu indicated as spicy, but was not. So, I’m not sure if you need to request more spice or if they just under seasoned it. Accompanied with hot tea that had a very nice flavor. The food was excellent!
