The unique name and tempting menu got customers in the door, but the rich flavors and feeling of home kept them coming back again and again! The name 13 Bones comes from our specialty baby back ribs. In order to be a full rack, there must be 13 Bones. In addition to ribs, our extensive menu features steaks, chicken, seafood, pork and sandwiches, as well as appetizers and a kid’s menu. Our menu provides a variety of foods that will surely satisfy the whole family. With a focus on great food at affordable prices, our goal is to make you happy. We strive to give the extra-personal touch and get to know our customers.

My family of 4, all grown adults went to eat on friday night 11/21/25 @ 7pm and thebbull came to 138$. We were hungry and the wait was about 25 minutes. We were seated in a reasonable time frame. The waitress came and took a drink order fairly quickly but ran away to get the drinks without asking if we wanted appetizers, which we did. She came back about 10 minutes later with drinks and asked if we were ready to order. She took the dinner orders and appetizer order together. She brought the salads out with the 2 appetizers at the same time. After biting into the salads we all had “sand” in the salads. We called her back the next time she ran past us and told her we think there is sand in the salad. Her response, ” yea, some guests have been saying that the past few days. I can replace them if you like.” 2 if us spoke up quickly and 2 others were to shy and did not ask for a substitute, even though they did not eat the sandy salad. I have to pause from my review to ask you reading this, why would she not tell us this when we placed the order? Terrible customer service, bring food that you have been told for the past few days has sand in it and why has the salad bin not been changed? Poor restaurant upkeep in my opinion, and I was a server for years and my son is a cook. We would never let that happen. Back to the review, the lemonade had a terrible aftertaste. When they brought a refill they dropped off a glass without ice, I tried it and it was better without the ice but still had a putrid aftertaste. This leads me to believe the ice bin also needs a good cleaning and the filter probablyneeds to be changed. We all ordered ribs with sweet potatoes and one with broccoli. The ribs were great, but the sweet potatos all had a burnt skin on the bottom of the potato. We had to ask for butter and extra napkins. FYI ribs means extra napkins. Ive eaten here before and drive 50 minutes to get there because the ribs are so good. They also raised the price from 20 to 24$. I’m now in the market for a new rib restaurant that does not have sandy salad, cleans their machines thoroughly and improves their customer service skills. You do not serve food knowing there has been complaints of sand in it, butter should come with potatos and rolls and extra napkins should be a no brainer if you are a server at a BBQ place. I pay a lot to go out to eat and almost always tip 30% or more. But not when you knowingly serve me sand. She’s lucky she got 15%.

We went tonight to order takeout. First off- they totally forgot to enter my husband’s order. So no food for him after a 30 ish minute wait.
I ordered the prime rib – medium, mac and cheese, and apples.
My prime rib is well done. The mac- well- that’s wrong too- I ended up with mixed veggies- and they at least got the apples correct.

Shannon was absolutely amazing at 13 Bones! From the moment we sat down, she made us feel welcome and taken care of. She was friendly, attentive, and incredibly knowledgeable about the menu. Her recommendations were spot on, and she checked in at just the right times without ever being intrusive.
Our drinks stayed full, our food came out perfectly, and her positive attitude made the whole experience even better. You can tell she genuinely cares about her guests and takes pride in what she does.
If you’re dining at 13 Bones, definitely ask for Shannon — she truly made our visit a 5-star experience!

We went there on the 21st of February. The place was packed and we had to wait 30 minutes to be seated. The wait was definitely worth it. My wife had the catfish and I had the Kansas style ribs. Both dishes were delicious. Now we know why this place is packed. When we go back to Mount Airy we will definitely have to visit 13 bones again. Anniversary dinner was a success, thank you guys for an awesome dinner.

Got the teriyaki chicken and blackened salmon. Both were very good! We got a house salad and sweet potatoes. They were really good. Rice came with the teriyaki chicken but wife couldn’t eat it. Had some weird taste to it. Service was outstanding!

First time here, read a few reviews, and I would agree..The Food, service, and experience was great! Our service was great. It was a little bit of a wait, but that was expected. Wings were good, if yoy like them crispy, just ask, I like mine crispy. The pork chops were the best we’ve had in a long time! They were perfectly cooked, and beautifully grilled!! Salad was great! And the sweet Potato was perfectly cooked as well!! Let your cooks know they are doing an amazing job, and it is appreciated! Thanks for am amazing meal!

I don’t understand what the ratings for this place are based on. We came here with our family for dinner after a long drive. At first, everything seemed fine, and we simply waited for our table. The waitress was very slow, which didn’t bother us on a Friday night, so we understood. They brought us cold food after a half-hour wait, and we also said nothing. The quality of the meat was very strange. My husband’s steak was practically raw. When he told the waiter about it, they didn’t even replace it; they brought him overcooked pieces that had been taken from his plate. We left hungry and wasted our money. The quality of the food and the portions were terrible. I don’t even want to mention the service. This is the second time in my life that I didn’t leave a tip.

Had a Farm to Table Ribeye and 1/2 Rack of Ribs… it was incredible! Meat was tender and cooked to perfection. The ribs pulled right out and the meat was literally falling off the bone. Will definitely return!
