Wow!!! You can’t get a better experience!!! The quality of their food is outstanding!!! Our dinner was so good we had to go back for breakfast!

They know what they’re doing with layering of flavors and presentation. The reality is the you do not want to miss this experience! Cocktails on point as well

Our server that I asked his name about five times and I cannot remember was so warm-hearted and easy to talk to. His name started with an E and he was from Russia. If I ever remember. I’m going to update this so you can make sure to ask for him!

We were lucky enough to snag a reservation for Christmas Eve. Cozy little eatery with friendly staff and delicious food. My husband had market price Prime Manhattan Strip which was $55. It was tender and flavorful, and the “tator tots” that came with it were really big, although I thought they lacked flavor. I had the sweet potato Gnocchi. I wish there had been a bit more Gnocchi in comparison to the broccoli race. I sadly did not find any fried sage on the plate. Salad was fresh, and the half size was quite large. The star of the show were the biscuits with housemade almond butter and blackberry compote. Wow! Their drinks were also tasty. They make a butterscotch sangria, which sounds weird, but it’s really quite good! All in all, it was a great place for a holiday dinner. I was glad that they had the whole menu available rather than limiting it to a couple selections like many places do for the holiday.

This place was excellent! We got a few salads, crab cakes, and the biscuits on a Saturday night. All of the food tasted fantastic and came out very quickly. Our server was very attentive. We don’t usually get dessert but they had a goat cheese cake so we had to 🙂 it was exceptional. Highly recommend this spot!

Very popular, but not sure I understand the hype. Maybe my expectations were too high? Eloquent and quaint atmosphere.

Shrimp N Grits – 7/10: small shrimp, grits we a bit gummy, sauce had a great taste.

Double rye drink special – 10/10: fab!

Jalapeño Bacon Burger – 7/10: cooked medium perfectly, bun was fresh. Flavors just didn’t pop.

Collards: 7/10 – cooked al’dente. Decent flavor

Drop Biscuits – very popular, but dry. Berry compote was nice. Tart and fresh.

No military discount offered.

Don’t forget to leave me a ❤️!

We had a very nice brunch here. The atmosphere was very inviting. The food was really tasty too. We had the blueberry biscuits appetizer – they melted in your mouth and were quite yummy. Drinks were also quite tasty. The Gas-lit Mary that I even liked and I don’t like bloody Mary’s, and a Rochester Coffee … very delicious. Our entree was the Chicken ‘N Biscuit with eggs and grits – yum!
Very nice time with great food, drinks and service.

Quite possibly the best biscuits and sausage gravy I’ve ever had. This place was our first stop on a 4 day trip to Savannah. The hotel concierge recommended it. There were four of us and everything was superb!

Dining with Dirk: Christmas Eve Edition
Open and hungry, I found my way to B. Matthew’s. As the door opened, Tammy—the hostess with the mostest—set the tone immediately, dressed in her Christmas red and brimming with holiday warmth.
Dining solo, I took a seat at the bar where AJ promptly greeted me, took my order, and delivered water without delay. Black coffee paired perfectly with the Fried Green Tomato Crab Cake Benny. The dish arrived quickly, cooked just right, and the Southern golden-brown biscuit proved a welcome—and delicious—alternative to the traditional English muffin.Dining with Dirk: Christmas Eve Edition

The Veteran “The Vet Vets” Stew
I had such a great experience at B. Matthew’s Eatery! I ordered the shrimp and grits with collard greens and tomatoes, and it was absolutely delicious—perfectly seasoned and so comforting. The real standout was the blueberry biscuit with orange glaze—sweet, bright, and one of the best treats I’ve had in a while. Even the coffee was smooth and rich, and I have to say, they take care with the small things too—the water was crisp and refreshing.

Fun fact

1) It’s housed in a beautifully restored late 1700’s building that is said to have once been one of Savannah’s earliest taverns.

2) In the basement, there are stories of iron rings attached to the walls and a long-sealed tunnel that may have once led to the Savannah River.
