The food was simply incredible. It was incredibly authentic, the service was excellent, and the laid-back atmosphere was perfect. And let’s not forget the great food!

On a Thursday afternoon, my wife and I dined at Taste of Di Island Eatery. On this particular day Island Eatery was not busy. The food was delicious, we went with their lunch specials. Atmosphere of the establishment is bright and tropical.
I ordered the Jerk Chicken w/ rice & beans; my wife ordered the Fried Chicken w/ white rice. Jerk chicken was flavorful and my wife liked the somewhat sweet sauce on the fried chicken.
Taste of Di Island Eatery serves delightfully tasty dishes, at least, 2 I can vouch for. We would dine at this establishment again.

We are from the Caribbean and initially I was skeptical that Michigan would have good Jamaican food. Went in based on the reviews and I’ll say it didn’t disappoint at all. We had curry goat, oxtail and jerk chicken. The dishes were delicious, portions aren’t bad for the price and packed flavor!

A great spot for unique Jamaican dishes. We had a goat curry with rice and coconut tofu & veggie plate. All was delicious! We listened to reggae, watched the fish in the aquarium and had a good time. Staff is great!

Fantastic place to eat, DO NOT MISS. We made it a point to come eat and it does not disappoint. The food is delicious and the staff are friendly. They clearly care about the product they’re putting out. We had the jerk chicken and the oxtails and both were absolutely wonderful.

Lunch special is a steal. Flavors are great. Best place to eat in Mackinac, hands down.
Pictured is chicken curry lunch and jerked chicken lunch. Recommend the rice and peas on the side. I got the ground provisions. Which I don’t think many will appreciate but I loved them for dipping the extra sauce.
Side note to owners. Would love if we could buy a side of the slaw and or the fried banana. Those are worth the extra purchase!

Visited on a busy weekend. They didn’t answer the phone until the fifth try. Called ahead and the food was very expensive. Took about an hour to make. The jerk chicken was very good but a little fatty for my taste. The rice was plain but still good.
