Reviews
The first sign should have been that there wasn’t a single other customer in the restaurant. The owner wasn’t outright rude, but she wasn’t welcoming either. It felt like we were outsiders and not entirely wanted there. The atmosphere just wasn’t friendly.
I ordered the gyro (which she quickly corrected my pronunciation of, eith a rude look). It was honestly the worst one I’ve ever had. There was so much tzatziki sauce that the sandwich was drowning in it. I had to take it apart and scrape off as much sauce as I could, and it was still far more than I’ve ever had on a gyro. There was very little meat and no lettuce at all. The tomatoes were fresh and the flavors could have worked, but it felt thrown together and skimpy on the main ingredient.
My husband ordered the wings and was disappointed to find out they don’t even sauce their own hot wings — everything is pre-made. That really takes away from the whole point of choosing a local restaurant instead of the chain next door.
We were especially surprised given the high overall rating. I wish I had taken the time to read the individual reviews instead of relying on the star score. Maybe this place used to be amazing, but it didn’t feel like the owners currently have their heart in it.
Unfortunately, this was the only sour note on our trip to Chandler.
Update: In response to your reply, I feel even more disappointed.
There was nothing fresh about our food other than the tomatoes. Your response read like a list of keyword inserts meant to optimize SEO rather than a genuine acknowledgment of a customer’s experience. That approach feels dismissive and honestly offensive when what would have gone much further was a sincere apology.
The pita bread was clearly store-bought and simply toasted to give the impression of freshness. It wasn’t housemade, and that matters when you present yourselves as “basically everything artisanal.”
My original complaint centered around what felt like a lack of heart in the food. With your response, it now feels like there’s also a lack of care in how you handle customer feedback. That combination is what truly makes this disappointing.
After that reply, there definitely won’t be a next time.
