We went on a day trip to Chandler and asked around for a place to eat. With limited options in town, we were told to try Georgio’s — and unfortunately, I wish we hadn’t.
The first sign should have been that there wasn’t a single other customer in the restaurant. The owner wasn’t outright rude, but she wasn’t welcoming either. It felt like we were outsiders and not entirely wanted there. The atmosphere just wasn’t friendly.
I ordered the gyro (which she quickly corrected my pronunciation of, eith a rude look). It was honestly the worst one I’ve ever had. There was so much tzatziki sauce that the sandwich was drowning in it. I had to take it apart and scrape off as much sauce as I could, and it was still far more than I’ve ever had on a gyro. There was very little meat and no lettuce at all. The tomatoes were fresh and the flavors could have worked, but it felt thrown together and skimpy on the main ingredient.
My husband ordered the wings and was disappointed to find out they don’t even sauce their own hot wings — everything is pre-made. That really takes away from the whole point of choosing a local restaurant instead of the chain next door.
We were especially surprised given the high overall rating. I wish I had taken the time to read the individual reviews instead of relying on the star score. Maybe this place used to be amazing, but it didn’t feel like the owners currently have their heart in it.
Unfortunately, this was the only sour note on our trip to Chandler.

Update: In response to your reply, I feel even more disappointed.
There was nothing fresh about our food other than the tomatoes. Your response read like a list of keyword inserts meant to optimize SEO rather than a genuine acknowledgment of a customer’s experience. That approach feels dismissive and honestly offensive when what would have gone much further was a sincere apology.
The pita bread was clearly store-bought and simply toasted to give the impression of freshness. It wasn’t housemade, and that matters when you present yourselves as “basically everything artisanal.”
My original complaint centered around what felt like a lack of heart in the food. With your response, it now feels like there’s also a lack of care in how you handle customer feedback. That combination is what truly makes this disappointing.
After that reply, there definitely won’t be a next time.

My husband and I ordered the medium chicken alfredo pizza (which was the best) and a meat lovers calzone. It was all very good. Four stars because the space is dated and was served with plastic ware which broke.

It’s unfortunate, I really wanted to experience a great local pizza place just as much as everyone else is saying… This is not it. I watched them make my pizza, and the sauce for the pizza literally was poured out of the original container, I mean you could at least hid the fact that you don’t make anything fresh . The toppings were normal pizza toppings, nothing special and obviously the sauce was not made in House. The pizza dough was okay but the middle of the pizza was so thin we could not even pick it up and the top of the crust was burnt. The atmosphere is very old and cheap and the drinks didn’t even work. We ordered a gyro, everyone else says it great…. I personally love gyros and this was probably the worst I have ever had. You can’t smother it in sauce to hid the fact that there’s hardly no meat, that’s obviously not fresh . We bought 2 XL pizzas and 1 gyro and 5 drinks, it was $75…. I love local but I also want quality for that price.

Used to be the best pizza in town. Not sure what has happened but ordered two extra large supreme pizzas got home not much more than bread hardly any cheese and sauce in fact vary little on toppings period for the price spent. Wife said the worst pizza she has ever had. Sadly dissatisfied certainly not worth the 45 dollars spent.

Passing through on a marathon drive from Michigan to Texas. Pulled into Chandler road weary and looking for some good grub. Stopped in Giorgio’s on a whim and enjoyed an absolutely wonderful pizza for lunch. Looking for a well-lit, black tie dining experience? This is not your place. Seeking a perfectly-baked pie that ticks every box for dining satisfaction? Stop in Giorgio’s! Friendly and fantastic. Bravo!

I absolutely love some of the food here. The owners, Greek I expect, can speak English but it can be a bit frustrating. I almost always get a Greek salad with gyro meat or anchovies. I absolutely love it there’s no other place in Chandler that you can get good for me greens.

They make everything homemade from scratch. if you like pizza, cheese bread, other wonderful Italian dishes by people from Italy. you may enjoy this as much as we do. it’s not for the ambiance of the building, just a hard working husband and wife making great food. Drinks are fountain you can help yourself. They do dine in or you can get it to go.

We love Giorgio’s! It’s the best pizza in the area by far, and we adore the couple who runs it. The Alfredo pizza is in the top 3 best pizzas I’ve ever had in my life- so good I never remember to get a decent picture of it. And we haven’t tried any of the other pizzas since getting this one. Their cheese bread is like 80% fresh mozzarella, and it’s so good we have never bothered to try any other appetizer. Their service is awesome and they’ve always been extra kind to our kid, and I can’t say enough good things about them!
