My family and I were just going to the coffee shop next door for a drink when we caught a whiff of the amazing smell! We followed it to this absolute gem of a restaurant.
The food is served family style and meant to be shared. My boys had a Sweet Lassi and a Mango Lassi, both were delicious but the mango had more of a tang to it and this was voted our favorite. The butter chicken was the best I’ve EVER had! The shrimp curry was also incredible and the naan was cooked to perfection.
This is a place everyone needs to visit. The only thing that will make you upset is when you get full and can’t eat anymore lol. The staff was friendly and attentive. Service was quick and we got checked on by the owner and the staff making us feel valued.

My friend said her mango chicken was the best Indian/nepalese she’d ever had! The butter chicken was tender and comforting, but slightly lacking in spices. Naan was amazing! Service is great, atmosphere is family friendly

Loved the food here. Had asked them to make the food spicy. Chicken tikka was lovely and the quantity was great too. Naan was soft and fluffy. Loved the Butter chicken and Chicken Briyani.

Found this restaurant during road trip to Yellowstone. Loved the restaurant vibes, delicious and tasty food. We tried saag paneer, veg steamed momos, meat samosa, mango lassi everything tasted fresh and delicious. Would highly recommend Kathmandu momo house. I have tried multiple nepalese restaurants in multiple states. This one really beats every one. Service was amazing. Must try if you are in rapid city

The location is nice but there aren’t as many vegan options here as at other Indian joints in town. They don’t offer dairy free entrees, no coconut milk. I ordered the Baigan Bharta without cream and took it to go so I could add my own coconut milk. I didn’t see any eggplant in it though. Maybe it was pureed? Taste was pretty good but I’ll be going to Himalayan from now on.

The most excellent nepalese experience you will ever have. i get the butter chicken with garlic cheese naan, mind blowing. Highly recommend and is most likely the best restaurant in Rapid City, South Dakota.

While I was in Omaha, NE, I noticed a place with less-than-stellar reviews. My road trip then took me to Rapid City, SD, where I stumbled upon a maybe the same “Kathmandu” restaurant boasting an impressive 4.9-star rating. I decided to try their Lamb Biryani and Fish Tikka Masala. Absolutely no regrets; it was truly to die for and comes highly recommended!
