I stopped in wanting something hearty and quick, and even though the line was surprisingly long for such a small place, the wait was absolutely worth it. The energy inside was incredible!
The woman serving everyone was truly a standout — handling a nonstop line with the biggest smile, so positive, so polite, and making every single person feel welcome. People like that make you want to come back, and trust me…I will! I’m definitely getting her name next time.
And the food? Delicious, generous portions, full of flavor — exactly what I was craving.
Can’t wait to return!
Let me start by saying I live for their soups—absolutely A-1, and the main reason I keep coming back! The flavor is always on point, and it’s easily the best thing on the menu (at least from what I’ve tried).
That said, I can’t really vouch for the rest of the food since I’ve mostly stuck to what I know is good. Friends have told me the other dishes are hit or miss, but honestly, the slow service keeps me from branching out. Even when there’s barely anyone in line, it moves at a snail’s pace—like they’re moving in slow motion.
The atmosphere is okay—nothing special, but not terrible either. If I’m craving Caribbean food, though, this isn’t my first choice unless I’m specifically in the mood for their soup. For now, I’ll keep showing up for that, but they’ve got some room for improvement everywhere else.
This eatery is an occasional go to as the food has an old time Jamaican taste to it and friendly atmosphere.
Last evening I decided to try the jerk chicken and pork only to buy left disappointed.
It was very spicy and salty.
My children played with the chicken and left it. I tried the pork but could not finish it as it was high in sodium and pepper but not having that jerky flavor with the right amount of heat.
As a Caribbean culture we should try to use less salt in our foods as it’s not healthy to consume too much.
The above pictures were taken this morning as I’m about to discard the food.
Buyer beware – Try before you buy.
The one star is for the food only.
The food is authentically Jamaican. It’s a take out affair served it a heart of love. Fried chicken to die for….. curry chicken is on point. So much to choose from, on the week end look out for Diana service with a smile. The chef is boss!!! Miss Maxine and the crew representing well!!! Careful you miss it , drive slowly after crossing Atlantic, heading south on SR7. Happy eating!!!
The cake is very moist!!!
I will be back!!
