Sabor a Peru truly delivers an unforgettable dining experience from the moment you walk in. We were warmly greeted by Marlene, whose genuine smile and hospitality immediately made us feel welcome. She took the time to learn our preferences and gave thoughtful, detailed recommendations.

The ambiance was inviting, cozy, and perfectly balanced. The music is at just the right volume, allowing you to comfortably enjoy conversation while dining. The chicha morada was the perfect level of sweetness and tasted wonderfully fresh and homemade. The tallarín verde con pollo and lomo saltado were both clean, vibrant, and packed with flavor. You can truly taste the quality of the ingredients, especially the tenderness of the meat.

While waiting, Marlene treated us to their beef empanadas with green sauce. Wow! The dough was phenomenal, and the filling was juicy without being heavy. No wonder they require a 24-hour notice for orders! For dessert, the alfajores, made from a family recipe were perfectly textured and delicately sweet.

This is a family-owned and operated gem. Marlene runs the front, her husband is the chef, and their son prepares the desserts. You can truly taste the love in every dish. A hidden treasure in Covina. If you want your meal to feel like a warm hug from home, this is the place. Easily 10 out of 5 stars! Thank you for such a wonderful experience! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Great food. It tasted very homemade. Marlene was very friendly and explained the dishes. Gave us free dessert cookies at the end. Will come back.

Tried this restaurant for the first time after some Black Friday shopping and it hit the spot. Plenty of parking, lots of tables, spacious and was greeted and served right away. The food is authentic, delicious, fresh and hot. You can tell they cook with love. One of the best if not the best Peruvian restaurant I’ve been to and would highly recommend!

A memorable dining experience. As soon as we walked in we were seated and greeted by the owner, a sweet Peruvian lady. Our food was made quickly and it was delicious!! It was our first time trying Peruvian food and it did not disappoint! I had the “Tallarin Verde con Carne” and it was exquisite! My family tried the “Tallarin Saltado de Carne”, “Bistec a lo Pobre”, and “Lomo Saltado” and they were equally as tasty! The restaurant was also very clean and offers restrooms. I recommend everyone check it out!

Delicioso!
Delicious!
Sabor a Perú was amazing!
My family and I were doing an errand in the Covina area and I decided to Google some Peruvian food options and came across Sabor a Peru.
It was an excellent choice.
The food is just sooooo good!
Delicious made from scratch & the portions are generous.
The pricing is also what I consider good.
Every single dish we order was amazing but I’m in absolute love with the Tallarin Verde de Pollo & the Lucuma Ice Cream.
But again everything was amazing.
Thank you Sabor a Perú.

Been here a few times already but finally remembered to write a review. The restaurant is located in a small plaza, very discreet from the outside. The interior is quite bright, seems to be of traditional Peruvian color theme and decoration.

The owner will make you feel at home. Foods look very appealing and taste wonderful. Love the green sauce!

Ordered the Lomo Saltado with my dad, mom had the Bistec a lo Pobre. We also got a side of the fried plantains. Everything came out piping hot and everything was deliciously seasoned. Definitely a hidden gem in the area (tucked into the corner of a plaza). Would definitely come again and also consider ordering takeout because it was just that yummy.

I stopped in on a quiet Thursday night.

The service was great, food was fresh and well seasoned. The price was a little high for the components and location but I enjoyed my meal and wouldn’t hesitate to go back again.

The sauce (aji verde) was delicious with a nice kick!

Nothing like authentic Peruvian food with a home style feel.

I recently tried this spot and it was fantastic! The authentic Peruvian food is delicious, bursting with rich flavors. The place is cozy and adorned with a good blend of Peruvian decorations. The staff is super friendly and make sure you’re well taken care of. If you’re looking for a great Peruvian dining experience, definitely check it out!

Oh…did I mention…the Aji Verde is on point too!!
